Right click on the Pointing Device on the desktop neat to the battery icon
Click on Pointing Device Properties.
Select the Device settings tab
Enable Touchpad.

Or press the little button in the top of the touchpad, should change from orange to blue

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).

Hello,

Thank you for using fixya.

Enable for you to unlock the mouse pad of your HP laptop, press FN + F7. However, there are some instances when that key won't work for some apparent reasons. But, don't worry because there are some other ways on how to make it work. I have provided a link below. This is a link to a tutorial on how to unlock your mouse/touchpad. Click on the link below:

Mouse pad is locked how do I unlock it?

hi
your track-pad mouse has a horizontal bar-shaped button above it with an orange light next to it, try pressing that button. The light should turn white and your mouse should begin working again.
