Sorry to hear about your problem. Sounds like you have a defrost issue. Hence your unit is not defrosting. All of this apply's if your freezer side has ice or is cold . If not. you have other issues, this does sound funny, but this is why your refrigerator side is warm, or not cooling.

Here is a list of some things that can go wrong.
1. Defective heat coil
2. Defective defrost timer
3. Defective defrost sensor
4. Defective Fan
5. Defective compartment inlet damper (on some models)

You should call a service company to resolve your issue.

Since I tried to help you, Please help me and Rate/Vote on the response. Thanks

I have a ge externa refrigerator that does not cool on top shelves of the fridge or the freezer. it cools at the bottom just not the top. model # is ESS25KSTSS. Fan is workin fine and has freon. If anyone...

If the fan is working fine the next thing to check for is heavy frost on the back wall of the freezer section toward the middle to bottom area. If you have frost there you will need to remove the panel and with ref. off use a hair dryer to defrost the ice from the coils. After the ice is defrosted you will see a defrost heater at the bottom of the evaporator coils. This will be your problem Part number 51x10101 at about 64.00 or less. Hope this helps and good luck. Fridgefreezer top fridge section has stopped

see if the back panel inside the refr comes off if it does and u have a fan back there make sure it is working if not make sure its gettin power to it and if it is and not running then replace it and see if this corrects the problem if this fails see if u have a duct going from the freezer to the refr if u do take it apart and see if somethings blocking the airflow or if it has a door thats stuck shut and not letting air go thru

Freezer works but refregerator is warm

If this is the model I am thinking about, you have the same compressor for each side. There should be a vent or opening that you can adjust to let cool air inside the refrigerator. Find it and adjust. You may have this opening blocked by something. Let me know if this fixes the problem.

Top Freezer/Refrigerator Everything freezes top/bottom

sounds like you need a new thermostat or cold control for the unit. take the model number and make to the parts house and they willl get you a new one. when you take the old one out be sure to put the new one in the exact same place. here's a good web site to read up on the installation http://www.appliancerepair.net/apnet/frameset?http://www.appliancerepair.net/apnet/refr/toc.htm
good luck

Kenmore 596.72289200 Freezer fine, but refrigerator not coolin

you must not be getting any air flow into the refr section. make sure the fan is running and if so then you may have a defrost problem. look at the freezer section rear panel, if it has heavy frost on it then it is not defrosting properly. there are a few problems that could cause a defrost issue. defrost heater, thermostat, or timer/control board. most likely the defrost thermostat.
if it is frosted over, then shut off the unit and get ready to catch the extra water that will run onto the floor, after a full day turn it back on and if it cools, you will know that you are not defrosting. it will work ok until it frosts over again, in about 2 weeks. then you will need to find out which part is bad causing the no defrost.
