-   When turning the unit on it defaults to a volume level of 17. This level is unacceptably high. If there is no factory fix for this I will have to return the unit -   csibby
Unfortunately you can't change it. There have been many other users here who have the same complaint, but it's the way the manufacturer made the thing. Don't know why it doesn't remember the last volume setting before it was turned off, but that's the way they did it. Perhaps the most unique solution someone suggested is to switch to the auxiliary input (assuming you don't have anything connected to it) instead of turning off the power. This will quiet it, then you just switch back to the other source when you want to listen again. Maybe a call or email to the manufacturer will get more information. Sometimes, when enough people have the same complaint, they offer some kind of remedy.
Brilliant Solution. I assume you use more power, but it's a reasonable soultion. I didn't expect it to work considering normal operation of this stuff.
The loudness might work for a heavy sleeper and the unit in another room.
Thanks. I am now happy with my choice. I love the inputs. That's why I baught it in the first place.
Thanks again.
