Question about Polaroid Televison & Video

2 Answers

I have a polaroid FXM2611C LCD TV DVD Combo that I gave to my kids. They are hooking it into just the coax cable. Menu tuning band is set to cable and the input to TV. They get a fuzzy picture. Their old tv worked fine and the smaller polariod I gave them also works fine. Any suggestions.

There's no antenna on the house. So, you use that because the signal is now digital and not analog? Just making sure I understand why that input is used.

I used it with a cable box and HDMI cable with no problems. Yes, we checked to make sure the coax was making contact with another TV and no problems. Thanks for the user manual.

Once again test the input source signal strength of the cable line . Once this is confirmed you can connect the line to the combo. make sure that there is a good picture with the DVD played in the combo.
Now make the input to tuning band to TV and test , if so the signal could be in the frequency for the TV bands, If not there can be issues with the tuner which your warranty should take care.
Also check if the oId TV had the cable band or the regular TV bands on which there was good reception.
Hope you check this out and reply.

OK NO don't use "Cable" as this isn't the correct Input, you need to use ANTENNA, as this is what the signal is. After hooking up the Antenna wire to the Antenna IN socket, the "Belling Lee" plug on the rear of the unit.
Once hooked up to the correct place, then do a channel search, and you should be able to "Tune" your set.
Always check the Plug end too, make sure that the Plug on the end of the antenna cable is OK, you need to physically check inside. Also check that the center pin is making good contact with the "Fingers" inside the female socket too.

ok,if you have a subscription to cable, you will have a cable box,you will only need to put your tv on cable and ch 3 or 4 on your tv,you dont need to search for channels,if you dont have a subscription, then you are trying to pick up over the air channels, they are called digital channels, you will need a digital tv antenna and your hdtv, you will change the settings on your tv to air or antenna, then you can search for digital channels, there are no more analog channels like we had when we are kids, they are all digital and dont need to be tuned in,if you still cant get channels please have someone help you.

I have just bought a 40 inch HD LCD TV, I want to purchase a combo VCR/DVD HD to be able to record channel 11(the new free to air channels HD). Big W gave the model No. RC 689 D to me but they were not...

The VCR/DVD combo that you purchased will be able to record what you wish to a VHS tape at low quality or to a DVD at a higher quality.

  1. Coax cable (round and screw on) from the antenna to VCR/DVD
  2. Coax/AV/HDMI cable (only need 1) from the VCR/DVD player to TV
  3. TV on and turned to the input matching the cable you used in step 2
  4. Turn on VCR/DVD and use the remote control included with this unit. Not the TV's
  5. Turn it to the channel 11 on the VCR/DVD
  6. Put in a VHS tape or DVD-R to record onto
  7. You will be able to hit record whenever the show comes on or used timed recording in the menu to schedule it ahead of time

How do you connect a polaroid lcd tv to a polaroid vcr/dvd combo?

does it have HDMI INPUT/OUTPUT? OR Audio video input/output? First you must have a cable for either of those two. HDMI (from the lcd tv) to HDMI (vcr/dvd combo).
audio/video input (from the lcd) to audio/video output (from the vcr).
hope this helps.

Would like to record from my tv to my magnavox dvd/vcr combo box

If I understand your request right, You do not have cable or satellite box.
You can not record from your TV. You use the TV as a monitor from the dvd/vcr combo box. What the box receives is what shows on the TV. So you will have to have a digital convertor hooked to the (antenna in) dvd/vcr combo box, (antenna out to the tv antenna in) Depending on the antenna you are using that is on the other end of your cable-in coax connection this will hook to your antenna in on the digital convertor box. If your cable is hooked up and operating correctly and directly to the tv that is digital ready you probabbly have a good picture. When the vhf/uhf signal was transmitted you could go from the dvd/vcr to the tv with no problem. But now that the signal is digital and the tv is set for digital the dvd/vcr will not pass a digital signal to the tv. Best suggestion, you have to get a digital dvd/vcr receiver. If you have more question please contact me.

I have a lcd 37" polaroid tv / dvd combo I use to have it hooked up to Direct TV and now wanted to just get the free channels with an antenna. Eveytime I scan for channels it doesn't find any. Do u think...

go into the set up menu and set the signal input to AIR, the rescan for channels. Directv should have been going into a sat box then into a different input than the Ant jack so make sure your on the right input

I have a samsung dvd vcr combo connected to a jvc tv but when i have press play i get no screen for either video or dvd the dvd runs but no recpetion

If you are connecting the dvd/vcr combo to the tv with coax cable first make sure the tv is on channel 3 and also make sure you have the samsung dvd/vcr combo on channel 3 by using the remote that came with the samsung. You should get picture and sound then if not try channel 4 on tv instead of channel 3. If that doesn't work try to put the samsung on channel 4 as a last option to try. This is only recommended if the combo is hooked to tv with coax cable out of combo to in on tv. Make sure coax is plugged into the out jack on combo and in on tv.

Cable/ant. hook-up

If you have a yellow/white jack on your DVD/VCR unit you can connect it to the TV using composite cables. If you only have the coax output on the DVD player you can buy an RF modulator that will convert the coax to composite also. But if you have two ports on thhe DVD player as most combos do the top is usually an input source such as cable and the bottom is the output that goes to the back of the tv. You could also buy a "splitter" and attach the cable and dvd coaxs to each of the out ports(they will be side by side) and on the opposite end, which is the in run a coax from that port to the tv coax port.
I hope this helps you out. If you need assistance you can visit me on the chat portion of this website.
