Fills up with water and then does nothing but beep. lights 1 and 7 are on. Have checked under machine and all spinning things that should be spinning are spinning. Have check for burnt out diodes or such and nothing found. Will empty no problem but then wont click on to next stage. Will fill Ok but again will not move on.

Thanks Daniel for quick reply but this model doesn't seem to have a timer as such (it is a Fisher and Pakell MW 511 Pride) It seems to want to spin but just does a wurling sound then a very short jolt and then repeats itself for a few times then shuts down leaving lights 1 and 7 on and of course it will fill and empty when it should.
    regards Fred

Possible that the main program controller board is faulty. To confirm that the board is working after choosing the program and setting to start the inlet valve should open as the water flows into the washer. Now One the water stops the motor must engage, make sure the door switch is working. If there is no voltage to the motor then it can be the board. If not the motor capacitor must be checked as it can be low in value or leaked.
Wishing you a happy New Year.

hello ok firstly take a look at someone else who had almost the same problem and they ended up having to replace the control board but there lights were 3 and 4 and yours are 1 and 7 http://applianceguru.com/forum2/1571.htm... the lights are actually error codes the first thing we need to do is figure out what the 1 and 7 stand for ok found what the error is says the motor controller has found in the pattern recieved from the rotor postioning sensor. Likely causes of this fault are a bad connection on the harness between the rotor postioning sensor and the motor controller, or a faulty rotor postioning sensor basicly means pain in the but basicly the wire that comes from the control board that goes to the rps sensor which is a small sensor that regulates the motor to spin most of the time it is the sensor that goes and be forwarned this is a very involved repair if you are not handy with exact positioning of electrical parts please call a technician if there are any further questions please message me back and please remember when our chat is concluded to rank how this opinion has helped if you would like also you can look up the error on this link like i did Thanks again

Hi
If the beep sound is from the dial not from the bottom where the motor is so the issue seems to be with the Timer going bad and should be replaced to solve this issue. However, you can unplug the unit and then blow some air with the help of hair dryer before replacing the Timer motor. If the sound comes from the motor area then it is the motor that should be replaced. When the motor goes bad it will fill with water and empty. One more thing to check will be the door lock-switch assembly, because if the control detects door not locked it won't run cycle and will just drain the water out. Hope this helps...

Washing machine fills and agitates but won't spin or drain, just hums.

When the machine beeps it is giving you a code with the 8 wash progress lights along the top. Some will be on some will be off. With OFF = Zero and On = 1 Can you give me the 8 digit code. An example is (01001001) It is normal for the pump motor to get very very warm. Make sure you can spin the pump impeller easily.

My f&p gw611 Fills up but then wont wash.the 2nd

Most possibly be Error code 56,
Is common in 11 series machines & early series 12.
Is your machine beeping & showing a weird pattern of lights on the wash cycle, It is displaying an error code,
To read this error code you start at the red spin light & work to the left only add up the lights that are on. Red spin light = 1 2nd rinse light =2 1st rinse light =4 last wash light=8 4th wash light=16 3rd wash light=32 2nd wash light=64 1st wash light=128
