When you receive a text message while you're talking on the phone you can read your message without getting off by pressing the envelope button on the lower right side of the phone and the message menu with appear then click text messages
you need to call your service provider (mine is TMobile) and tell them to turn on Black Berry Feature Enabler
(This allows customers with certain Blackberry devices
who are not signed up for BlackBerry service to enjoy phone features
such as Picture Messaging, Instant Messaging and t-zones.) this is directly from their site, and this service is 100% free
The AIM client for RIM is limited to 30 contacts at this point, so it won't show everyone. They are in the process of updating their client so that it shows ALL buddies.
What you could do is use an instant messaging client called BeeJiveIM, which is a multi-protocol instant messaging client that allows you to connect to AIM, Google Talk, Windows Live, Yahoo!, MySpace and ICQ. There is a 30-day free trial at http://www.beejive.com.
The Windows Mobile installation may be corrupted.
The only way to fix that problem is by re-installing the windows software on the phone.
You can get the software for the T-mobile dash at the following link: http://www.t-mobile.com/wmupgrade/
Be warned that if you use this method most of the data on the phone will be lost, like text messages and etc. Your contacts should be fine as the are stored on the SIM Card and if you have been syncing your contacts with your PC then they should get loaded when you do the up
