I have replaced both the red and blue ICs and the 1.8 and 3.3 resistors and I also had the whole board checked for resistance and continuaty but the blue is still distorted at the top and bottom toward the center. I tried lining up the blue manually using the remote but still limited to how much I can line-up the horizontal line. Do you have any other suggestions that I should do or look for. I appreciate all your help.

Yes,but the front that not what u wanted to be open.The back of the tv that what u wanted to be open.That where the tv convergence board is,that the board require reparing.Yes,if U have all the tools and can do basic soldering works too like take out desoldering ICS take it out of a circuit board and resoldering ICS on put in onto a circuit board and also desoldering/resodering like take out small components parts and replace with new small components parts onto a circuit board?Yes?The tv convergence board must require replaces like 2 STK convergence ICS and some or all of it resistors too.To fixed the tv convergence board to solved the tv convergence pictures problems.Tries websites like Tvrpairworld.com,Tvrepairkits.com to buy a whole complete convegence kit belong to ur tv make and model the kit also will have a dvd disc of tutoring job too.Or tries tvs shops will cost u like $300-350 for parts and labors.
problem will be either Bad resistors ,in front of the Convergence ICs or ICs and resistors need to be replaced. ICs are big black ICs and will have part number on them STK392-110 use 120s or 150s
Mats Electronics has Parts ask for Convergence repair Kit. 1-800-628-1118
Replace Both of your STK ICs STK 392-110s use 150s or 180s they are Big Black ICs will have part number on them. Call Mats Electronics for parts 1-800-628-1118 also replace these resistors RK42,RK46, RK50, RK54,RK58, RK60.
The Convergence Circuit has failed. The Convergence ICs probably need to be replaced. There may also be a burnt resistor that would also be replaced. They should be replaced as a pair. The ICs needed are as shown. STK392-110, STK392-120, or STK392-150. If you are not comfortable trying to repair the set, call a Hitachi Professional.
I hope this helps,
did you replace the six convergence resistors with the ICs? as Hitachi recommends replacing the six resistors when the ICs are replaced as the old ICs can harm the resistors and they will need replacement.
Good Day, Gil;
Your problem is in deflection circuit (115+v) check these: FP05, DP15, Q777, QH01, TH01, T701, etc. BUT suspect C707 1k pfd, 2kv, and check all the pico fuses (brown) 2" to the right of cap. Good Luck, big IRISH.
I would change both ICs STK392-110 and also the 3.3ohm 1 watt resistors and the 1.8 ohm 1 watt you would need 2 of each resistor. Then your convergence would be new again. You can get replacement ICs and resistors at the following link with free shipping and free instalation instructions with pictures. http://servicemanuals.vstore.ca/
I had the same problem on my Hitachi rear projection TV 53FDX20B made in Mexico. The blue convergence problem. Blue focus had shifted and appeared like a blue ghost image. I followed the step by step intructions from the fixya site. First Replaced the two STK 392-110 ICs and turned on the tv. No change. Then I went looking for the bad resistor. There was one resistor RK50 (2.7 ohm, 1Watt capacity) which is attached not right close to the printed circuit board surface but was well raised up from the board. The bands on the resistor were a little discolored. I replaced that one and turned on the tv. The convergence problem was solved. Thanks for the step by step instrucitons on your site.
