Probbaly a limit switch, not easy fix.got to open it up, short switch and run awhile if its ok then replace limit or risk fire.if it still quits then its thermostat.sometimes there is a tiny little screw behind the knob you can adjust

Installed the Honeywell RTH2300

at the thermostat you have a small tolerance (most have 5% + or -) few degrees is not a problem ex...70F= 21C and 82F=27C this diference is inertial, you can set a lower temperature(ex...60 F to reach 72 F) the problem is if the temperature grow and never stop until the saftey thermostat stop the heating.also is posible to have a broken thermostat(work thermostat) and in this case it must be changed whit new one or the teperature probe is plced in a wrong place.

I WOULD BY PASS THERMO STAT , TO TAKE THAT OUT OF THE LOOP, DONT KNOW THE TYPE BUT ON A TWO WIRE SYSTEM IF YOU CROSS THEM IT MAKES A DEMAND FOR HEAT AND THE HEATER SHOULD COME ON, IF SO THERMOSTAT IS BAD,MY FIRST GUESS, SECOND IS SOME TYPE OF SENSOR, SNAP DISC SENSORS LOOK LIKE S NICKEL WITH TWO WIRES GOING TO IT, THE USALLY HAVE A LITTLE RESET BUTTON ON THEM, I WOULD CHECK THESE, DONT CONFUSE PROBLEMS, TRY TO ISOLATE ONE AND TRAC IT DOWN, GOOD LUCK RIGHT BACK

I have the thermostat set for 70 degrees on the white rodgers programmable thermostat. The heat runs until the room is 70 degrees, but then the heat stops and the room cools off and the heater doesn't kick...

Based on your explanation this is an erratic operation of the thermostat, first thing that you need to check is the wiring make sure that all the wires are proper looped on the under terminals then reset the thermostat if the problem still persist I think you need to replace the thermostat. How old is your battery? Keep in mind rechargeable Li-Ion batteries aren't meant to last more than a couple years, regardless of whether they've been used or not. If yours is as old as your camera, I think you know the answer. The good news is there are many inexpensive generic alternatives available these days. Some are very good, and vice versa. Research the buyer reviews before considering purchasing.

Central haeting keeps turning on when itself

Change your air filter, if the system has to work too hard, it will over heat. If the filter is allowing air flow and the system still shuts off it is the thermostat. Keep in mind the Thermostat gauges the temperature where the thermostat is located, if its next to a running fireplace it will think your entire house is that temp.

The thermostat has a function called "Adaptive Intelligent Recovery".

This feature allows the thermostat to learn how long the furnace and air conditioner take to reach programmed temperature settings, so the temperature is reached at the time you set. For example: Set the Wake time to 6 am, and the temperature to 70°. The heat will come on before 6 am, so the temperature is 70° by the time you wake at 6.

You can turn off this function. Download the installation guide at the next link:
http://customer.honeywell.com/honeywell/ProductInfo.aspx/TH8321U1006
and look for funcion number 0530 Adaptive Intelligent Recovery. In this manual you also find the way to do a reset with the function number 0710.

I hope this solves your problem.

Heater will not stay lit on auto procom ml 300 blue flame

If you have an ML300HGA, it is a manual-control heater, which means you turn it on and you turn it off. No thermostat. It does not have an AUTO setting.

Likewise, the thermostat-controlled models do not have a Manual mode. If you have the ML300TBA, it has a thermostat and will turn itself on/off in order to maintain a room temperature.

On manual models, the numbers (if any) on the dial are heat output selections. Set the control to the highest heat setting and that's what it does until you turn it off.

On automatic thermostat models, the numbers on the dial are temperature selections. Set the control to the highest heat setting and the heater will continue running until it is 85-90 degrees, then shut off. Set it around 2 and it will maintain a temp of around 70 degrees.

All Procom heaters are either automatic (thermostat-controlled) or Manual. None are both.
