Question about Car Audio & Video

L994 toyota camry radio amp

Mechanic told me that the radio amp was burned out (apparently under the shotgun seat) which was what was shorting out several fuses and causing several other lights not to work.

This diagnosis was followed by my discovery of a chewed up bag of chips in my trunk. Mouse perhaps the troublemaker?

Where should I proceed to go to fix my problem? Do you think the radio is toast now? Just the amp? Wire that could be repaired?

Thank you for your time.

If mouse, possibly a fix. need to check all wires and make sure no copper is touching each other. if there is copper to copper contact, need electrical tape and wrap all wires to keep them separated. will take a long time but worth saving money.

Show how to replace power outlet fuse for 2006 Toyota Camry

Interior Fuse Box Location 2002 2006 Toyota Camry 2006 Toyota Camry LE 2...

The video above shows how to replace blown fuses in the interior fuse box of your 2006 Toyota Camry in addition to the fuse panel diagram location. Electrical components such as your map light, radio, heated seats, high beams, power windows all have fuses and if they suddenly stop working, chances are you have a fuse that has blown out. If your Camry is experiencing electrical problems, you should always check the fuses first, because they are relatively easy to check and cheap to change. Some Toyotas have multiple interior fuse boxes including in the trunk - the video above will show you where the interior fuse box of your 2006 Camry is located. If your Camry has many options like a sunroof, navigation, heated seats, etc, the more fuses it has. Some components may have multiple fuses, so make sure you check all of the fuses that are linked to the component in question.
If you need to replace a blown fuse in your Camry, make sure you replace it with one that has the same amperage as the blown fuse. If checking and replacing the fuse for the component in question doesn't work, we recommend seeking assistance from a trusted professional mechanic. They should be able to figure out if the component needs to be replaced or if there is a short or some other problem with your Camry.

Good Luck

I change the alternator on a camry the dash board lights, tail lights wind sheild wiper, radio an it wont start whats the problem.

you may have burned out a fuseable link Alternators now are very sophisticated. Some have resistors, rectifiers, and chips in them that match the vehicles computer code. If the link is buned out you must replace it with another fusable link wire. Apparently there was a short when you wired it and it burned out the link..

1999 Toyota Avalon. I've dealt with only one speaker working in the back seat passenger side of door and now it went out and the smell of burnt wires? Permeated through the car. What's an easy, cheap fix...

Hi, as a retired radio installer here is what I reccomend. First, you should the head unit. They are very cheap now. Wallmart can fix you up for under "a c note". Pick up a pair of 5x7 speakers for the rear. Most of your toyota systems are using sep. Amps. All.told, including labor you should be under $200. That should give you many happy miles.

I have a 2007 Toyota Camry and when I accellerate I have a rattle, I think in the exhaust sytem). What to do to fix the problem? Thank you in advance.

I have same problem and today took it to Mechanic as we want to sell ours. We were told serperntine belt was loose, so they replaced it. However 3 months ago we already paid fpor brandnew belt, so now I am wondering if we were ripped off by mechanic one or mechanic two.

Would love to know the answer as feel pretty bad about it now.

The first mechanic put 7PK 1930 size, second mechanic said it was too loose so put on 7PK 1905.
Which one is right for our 2007 camry?

How to erase toyota camry code obd 1

Hello, and welcome to FIxYa.

To erase the check engine light on a 1994 Camry, open the hood, and, in the engine compartment fuse box, remove the blue 15 amp EFI fuse for one minute. This will clear the codes. If you have a hard code; ie a malfunctioning sensor, the light will come right back on.

Thanks for choosing FixYa for assistance.

Radio installation

I think it really depends on what one she has. Mine was the full unit with tape and CD. When I got my car the radio didn't work. I later found out that the amp under the passanger seat went bad and took down the whole system. Toyta, for some reason, ran all the key wires under that seat. Thats where the Constant, VCC (Key power), Remote, and ground. Then the amp powers the head unit. The person I bought mine from said that the radio started clicking in the speakers before it quit. If I would have just known to change the amp under the seat, it would have been much quicker. Hope some of this helps.
