I Need more information to help, it could be lots of things...

who is your internet provider?, what type of connection do you have?, did you change something since the trouble started?

First find out what type of connection you have (STATIC IP, DYNAMIC IP, PPPOE, etc...)
Check with you'r ISP if they can reset you'r account (MAC ADDRESS, PASSWORDS, etc...)
You can also verify the WAN port of the router (CABLES, CONNECTORS, etc..)
It could be you'r ISP's modem, try connecting the computer in the modem (be sure to update the antivirus first) and power up the computer, if no connectivity call you'r ISP, if it works concentrate on the router...

Good day!

Connecting a Linksys WRT54GL. no internet connection detected

The ISP modem connects to the main LAN port on the router. The PC connects to any other port. Done. You should have internet via wire at this point.

I'm setting up a new router. I was instructed to go to routerlogin to work withy settings, but I am directed to a web page, not the router. How do I complete setup of the router?

RECONFIGURE THE ROUTER:
1. Please remove all the connections from the router. Connect power to the router and then connect a cable from the computer into any of the 4 lan ports on the router. Make sure the modem should not be connected to the router or to the computer.
2. Open up the Internet Browser (Safari, Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Opera, etc.).
3. Put http://www.routerlogin.com/basicsetting.htm in address bar.
4. On the basic setting page scroll to the bottom and click on Apply.
5. Login to the router with the Username as "admin" and Password as "password" (please note that the Username and Password are case sensitive).
6. Click on Setup Wizard and then select "Yes" and Click "Next" on the detection window.
7. It should give you a "Dynamic IP Detected" or "pppoe detected"(type the Username & Password of your dsl account in case of pppoe detection) and then click next.
8. Click Apply.
9. Logout of the router.
10. Open up another browser window and try to access internet.

prakash

Will not detect a connection to internet

hi

instead of connecting the cable from the modem to the Internet port on the router connect it to one of the ports numbered 1,2,3,4 and hopefully it should connect

also check the channel at which the laptop and the router are communicating

also check the ip range that the router is adjusting itself to

hope this helped
cheers

PS: if this was anybit useful pls rate the solution, thanks
