SOURCE: Unit trips circuit breaker when plugged in

On AC current it really makes no difference to the operation of the unit which terminal the wires are connected to as long as the circuit is completed. A reason for the inverted wiring is that there will be a resistance between the hot wire and the control circuit. It makes for a reduced load on the contacts and switches minimizing arching.

SOURCE: Dayton 1/2 hp dual voltage

Wiring would be for low voltage 1-3, 4-2. L1 feeds 1-3 and L2 feeds
4-2. For high voltage L1 feeds 1 and L2 feeds 4 with the 2-3 terminals linked by wire or bus bar.

SOURCE: I am replacing the a/c

Motor Wiring
Old Motor
Brown wire is Start
Yellow wire is run or Power
Black wire is High Speed or Common
The other two taps are speed taps, but you have a single speed application
And high speed is what you need ,that’s why there’s not any wires
on Red and Blue if high speed was to much then you would move the
Black wire to one of the other taps RED low speed or Blue Medinm speed
New Motor
White goes to the Yellow wire from the capacitor
Black goes to the Black wire you took off of high speed on old motor
Of course both Brown wires go to the capacitor and Green to ground
If a capacitor doesn’t discharge it doesn’t mean it’s bad
but the capacitors don’t last as long as they used.
Any time you put in a new motor always replace the capacitor
It will save you a lot of time and grief later on.

SOURCE: Evaporaive cooler wiring re-connect

I would think you want to connect the green wire to chassis. The idea being if any component shorts to the chassis the unit would grounded directly to earth.

I have a new Husky Model C801H air compressor 230 Amp, how do hook up the wiring

I'm assuming you mean it's 230 volts, not 230 amps. (big difference here)..and I think it's actually 240 volts. (minor detail)

This is really a job best left to a qualified electrician, as you're going to need to have a 30-amp outlet installed (compare to an electric clothes dryer outlet, or a welder outlet).

The cord supplied with the compressor should be a 4-wire cord, consisting of 1 black, 1 white, 1 red and 1 green wire.

The green wire is the ground and it absolutely *must* be hooked up to guard against an electrocution hazard. Of the other 3 wires, the black is 1 or the 2 hot leads (the red is the other hot lead). The white wire is the neutral.

You will need a *TWO-POLE* 30-amp circuit breaker of the type that's made for your specific make & model of electrical panel. This breaker will have two separate, independent bussbar connections on the underside and 2 separate screw lugs to attach your Black & Red wires to (individually, not to the same lug). These are unique as to brand and model, so you will need the right one. If this is going in your home garage and you're lucky enough that your breaker box is there in the garage where the compressor is going, then it's going to be much easier. (much less expensive) Still I am going to stop here as I cannot recommend anyone working inside their electrical distribution panel unless they are a qualified electrician. Please hire an electrician to hook this up for you. Please do not attempt to hook it up yourself.

How do I install the 4 prong electrical cable to the dryer?

I would attach the black wire to the black & yellow, white to white, red to blue & brown. The green wire is your ground wire and needs to be attached to the cabinet. On the connection where your white wire is located see if there is a copper strap that goes from the terminal block to the cabinet. If there is, you will need to remove that strap and attach the green wire to where the strap was attached to the cabinet. Hope this helps!

Installing a Dayton G73

How many amps is your service? And what gauge wire did you use for the heater?
If your service is only 40amps that is your problem. You don't have enough amps for the heater and the rest of your house, you will have to upgrade your service.

Installing a Dayton G73

If that is a 240V unit then you are correct wiring L1 and L2 to black and red. Unless the unit uses 120V for something like a control panel, it doesn't need the neutral.
