The latch on the battery door is on the back of the calculator, near the center.
Holding the calculator, looking at the back, with the wider (top) of the calculator pointing away from you, put your index finger into the indentation and gently press the latch towards the bottom of the calculator while lifting the door up.

How do I get the Lithium Battery out?

Turn the calculator over. Press down on the latch and then lift up the battery compartment cover. Use a small screwdriver to unscrew the backup battery cover, then lift the cover off. This cover has a tab on the right end (away from the screw) that slides under the case. If you can't get it off after unscrewing, turn the calculator over and knock it against your palm.
Now you'll see the backup battery (the round thing) in a circular compartment with a long slot leading to it from the right. Insert the screwdriver or a thin knitting needle or similar object into the slot, putting the end under the battery, then pry the battery up and out.
To put the new battery in, you'll have to tilt it almost vertically to get it under the tabs on the left and then push to get it flat.

Try taking the batteries out for more than 30 seconds, then holding on while putting them back in. Then press enter when you try to graph.
If that doesn't work, there seems to be a problem with your firmware, you will want to send the calculator back to TI.
Best of luck!!!

The tab that you are looking for is on the back of the calculator. From the bottom of the calculator, follow the seam to the mid central point on the back. At this point, you should see what appears to be a tiny "lip" in the middle of the back. Use a dime or a pair of tweezers to push or pull this lip in the direction in which it will move. The battery cover should come loose allowing you to remove the batteries.

How do you change the battery on a ti-84 plus calculator

Turn the calculator over. About in the middle of the back of the calculator, there's a latch. It's above the mainly rectangular battery cover. Push the latch down toward the rounded end of the calculator and then pull the cover out toward you. The batteries are underneath.

If you need to change the backup battery, use a small screwdriver to remove the screw under the battery cover.

How do you install batteries in th eti-84 plus calculator?

The batteries go in the back, under the big rectangular cover. The release is just above the cover, push it down toward the cover then pull up and the cover should come off easily. Put the four AAA batteries into the slots, following the polarity indicators.

To install the backup battery, remove the screw from the cover and then remove the cover. Install the battery and replace the cover and screw.

Put the main cover back on by inserting the tab into the slot at the bottom and pushing the top back in.

Look on the back of calculator. You will see a large rounded rectangle that takes up the bottom half of the calculator. That is the battery compartment door. At the battery door there is a depression. Insert your index finger in the space and pull down and towards you. The door will open. Insert the batteries, respecting the polarity diagram. In each battery slot you will see a plus ( ) or a minus (-).

TI-84 Plus calculator keeps draining a set of batteries with each use. Can this be fixed?

Either you are putting in partially discharged batteries (test the new batteries with a battery tested NOT a voltmeter), or there is a partial short in the ca;culator (low impedance). If he batteries test good before insertion and they drain very quickly upon use, then the calculator is defective (it has some sort of low impedance in the circuitry. In this case, complain to Texas Instruments and have them give you a new calculator.

Error message for TI-84 Plus

Try and resolve this issue by re-installing the calculator's operating system using the TI OS Downloader. To do this, please follow the steps listed below. Be sure you have fresh batteries in your calculator.

1. Download the OS 2.43 file to your computer (preferably the desktop).

2. Open the TI OS Downloader by going to Start>>Programs>>TI Tools>>TI Connect>>TI OS Downloader. If you do not see TI OS Downloader, you may need to install the latest version of TI Connect. You can download a free copy from:

3. From the main screen, select your calculator and cable type. Click "Next" to continue.

4. From this screen, locate the OS 2.43 file by clicking on the yellow browse folder and navigating to the location where you downloaded it. Double-click the OS 2.43 file to select it.

5. Remove one triple A battery from your TI-84 Plus. With the battery removed, press and hold the [DEL] key while you re-insert the battery.

6. You should see a "Waiting..." message on the screen of your calculator. If so, disconnect the USB cable from your computer, re-connect it and then click "Start Download". This should begin the OS transfer process.
