Question about Acer Aspire E500 PC Desktop
If in windows, look under the "start" menu for "shutdown".
If that doesn't work, most PC's will shutdown if you press and hold the power button for roughly 5 seconds, but doing this can be negative for the equipment if the operating system doesn't respond in time. You might try just pressing the power button one time to see if the O.S. will respond and attempt to shut itself down gracefully. If it doesn't, then just hold the power button in till the machine cuts off. Hopefully, you won't have to make a habit of that. The ideal way to shutdown is to "tell" the O.S. to shutdown, so it doesn't cause a hard drive head crash or file corruption, which while both are remote, are still a potential with a hard loss of power.
