How do I disable touchpad on Dell Vostro 2510

First you need to make sure you have the Synaptics Pointing Device software on your laptop. If not, go to Dell's website and download this and install it to your computer. Once installed you will see an icon in the lower right corner of your laptop screen that looks like a touchpad. Double click that icon. This will bring up your mouse properties. There are several tabs. Single click on the tab called Device Settings. Highlight the standard pointing device and select disable. Click on apply in the lower right corner of that window. The device should now show as No under enabled and your touchpad won't work.

Touchpad not funjctioning on Toshiba Satellite L40/45 laptop

You might have inadvertedly disabled the touchpad.

1. Press Fn + F9 to enable the touchpad.
This key combination acts as a switch, enabling or disabling the touchpad: press once to enable (if it is disabled), then press again to disable.

2. If the touchpad still doesn't respond, check the settings in the mouse control utility.
Click on the touchpad icon on the right side of the task bar if you see one or click Start button/Settings/Control Panel, select the Mouse icon and Press Enter.
Change the settings if necessary.

Disable Touchpad Clicking

Hiya, At the bottom right of the screen, by the clock, you should see an icon for the touchpad.....

Hint : Hover the mouse over the icons and wait for the "Pop-Up" Display to see what they do if your not sure.

When you find the one for the touchpad, simply right click it and scroll down to the option that says "Tap To Click" and left click it so that there is NO TICK next to it..........

........ This will DISABLE all tap click options and leave the touchpad as a touchpad and the buttons as buttons...........

Hope This Helps, Kind Regards,

Me :D

Touchpad on acer aspire 5100 series is locked

plug in a usb mouse, go to control panel>system>harware>device manager and click on the + sign next to pointing devices. Right click the touchpad and click on uninstall. Reboot the laptop and unplug the usb mouse. This should pick up the touchpad as new hardware and reinstall it. Hopefully this will resolve the problem.
