To turn on the wireless go to device manager from Computer and go to hardware nad you would find it, try uninstall/install for your wireless adaptor and then try going to network places on left you have my network places then for your wireless network icon make right click and disable/enable.
If this also does not work try installing the driver for the wireles connection again.

It is because the Power adapter is not connected properly. If this happens again. Disconnect the power adapter cable from the router and from the power socket. Then connect it back again. The router will come on. It could also be because of power surge which might have stopped the system for a while

NO wireless device

Go an Acer site and download the NIC dirvers and make sure the wireless switch is moved to the on spot. The wireless switch should be on the side or back, marked on & off and a pic of a satlite or dish.

I can't get my Sony laptop to switch to Wireless setup. I've moved the front switch!

hi ya
  • make sure that the laptop has wireless capabilities,
  • it may have just been an option ,
  • do you see a light on or near the switch when you move it.
  • if not go into device manager
  • look in the network adapters for a wi-fi adapter.
  • if its there, and disabled ,enable it ,
  • if not you probably don't have it.
  • you can buy a usb wireless adapter quit cheaply $50AU.
good luck
