check to make sure your numlock is off. otherwise check your keyboard language and make sure its set to US. on windows this is usually a little symbol located in the bottom right hand of your desktop.
Either the "blue" coloured 'FN' is _stuck_ in the "down" position, or you have accidentally activated the "Sticky Keys" Windows "accessibility" tool.
With "Sticky Keys", you press keys just _one_ at a time, e.g., CTRL then ALT then DELETE instead of pressing multiple keys (SHIFT and '8') at the same time.
Restart, in order to turn-off "Sticky Keys".
Or, "exercise" the 'FN' key, until it "unsticks" itself.
I also had this problem and just figured it out! Go to "control panel" and then 'region and language' and then 'change keyboards' click on the dropdown menu and choose 'US' click 'OK' and that should work!
The numeric keypad functions like the numeric keypad on an external
keyboard. Each key on the keypad has multiple functions. The keypad
numbers and symbols are marked in blue on the right of the keypad keys.
To type a number or symbol, hold down <Fn> and press the desired
key.
To enable the keypad, press <Num Lk>. The
light indicates that the keypad is active.
The fn key acts much like the shift key on your keyboard,,it is used to access the extra key functions which will be marked or written in blue on your key's. They are supposed to be there.
