Question about Vacuums

1 Answer

I just had this machine delivered yesterday (Janome Magnolia 7330). When I sew a straight seam (all I've tried so far) I get loops at the underside of the fabric. I adjusted the upper thread tension, but that did not help. In fact the loops got larger as I increased the tension. My thought is that I don't have the machine threaded correctly. Thanks!

Your problem is in the tension adjustment. also check the stitch lengths.

I have lost my manual to my Sewing Machine Janome Excel Decor 5018 and was wondering if I can down load one :)

A copy of the manual is available for sale here: http://www.sewingpartsonline.com/instruction-manual-janome-decor-excel-5018.aspx . Other sewing machine parts dealers may also have the manual.

The only Decor model for which Janome has an online copy of the manual is the DC3018. I believe this is a very similar sewing machine with slightly different features. The manual for the DC3018 is here: http://content.janome.com/documents/File/ManualFile/DC3018.pdf .

I hope this helps.

Excessive thread under fabric...jams up the machine. Have rethreaded, replaced needle, rewound bobbin...no difference. Sews a few stitches then under thread just gets jammed in machine. Viking 1100.

So the underside looks more like a **** rug? 2 things to try. The problem is the bobbin. try flipping the bobbin over (take it out, turn it over and put it back in). The writing on the bobbin printed in the plastic should be on the top and no writing on the underside. 2nd,make sure it's threaded front to back and not looped around the needle. I have the same machine~it did that too!

Loose stitches tention loose long stitches, what should the setting be for straight stitches? for a 7318 model janome

Thread tension is more dependent on what you are sewing than machine model. Upper should almost always be tighter than lower, and the thread should pull up into the fabric being sewn.

My mom has alzheimers and has lost the manual to her Janome 9000 Memory Craft sewing machine. Is there anywhere on-line to get a free one? I wouldn't mind paying for one but I know hers is at her...

I wasn't able to locate an actual manual for your Janome 9000 Memory Craft sewing machine. Believe me, I searched! I was able to find assistance to issues from the Janome website. Goto http://content.janome.com/index.cfm/FAQ then scroll down to MC9000 then click on category in the FAQ section or just click on search. Their database is huge. There may be some assistance in those pages. You can also try http://content.janome.com/index.cfm/Machines/Retired/MC9000 I know its not a manual, its a start. I wish you all the best.

I have a Janome 8048. Here's my problem: As I sew I notice that the stitches on the top of the fabric look the way they should on the bottom side and when I take the material off the machine and flip it...

I haven't sewn in years. A sewing machine has a tension control on top and on the bobbin. If the intersection of the top and bottom threads is not in the middle of the sewn material, you have to adjust your tension.
In your case, what I think you are saying is that the stitch on top is just a straight line and on the back it disappears into the fabric.
To correct this, lower the top tension by loosening the tension adjuster on the thread where the thread loops around the small pulley.
Also, you could tighten the tension on the bobbin by slightly tightening the small screw on the side of the bobbin.

Janome sewing machine Harmony 2139 The bobbin thread is not connecting with the needle to make a stitch. We have put in a new needle. Using needle 4 tension

I think I just answered this question. But if not, try to set the tension adjustment and or the type of stitch. Let me know if this works or not.

Janome 6600 sewing machine. bobbin thread is gumming up underneath on a swimsuit knit type material (4 layers). Brand new machine had 1 1/2 weeks. Sometimes material goes down into the bobbin area jammed...

Make sure you're using a polyester thread (I use maxilock serger thread) then a stretch needle, and hold the tails of your thread until you get started into the seam so the fabric cannot push down into the opening on the throat plate.

Also, a small zigzag stitch (about 1.8 - 2.0 wide) is good to use on lycra as that will allow the fabric to stretch after the garment is made.

This is stuff I've used with my 6500P and other previous Janome machines in making Ice Skating outfits.

Janome dc4100 loopy untidy stitching on reverse sewing machine

Totally rethread your machine, if the underneath threads are looping it is your threading on top that is causing the problem. Make sure that you thread is not tangled.
