I dropped my Sync in water for a few seconds. The 'water damage' dot did not change color. I let it dry out but now when we power it on, it says no service and has a picture of the phoneset with a red diagonol line through it. The SIM card works great in another phone we have so it wasn't damaged. The screen lights up and the phone still has sound, just can't make/receive calls. Any suggestions or is it all washed up?

Re: Sync A707 in water
Did you dry
the phone completely? If not here is the procedure to take out all moisture
trapped in the phone: Dry the phone, battery, any accessory, etc. with
cloth and wrap each piece, phone and accessories, in newspaper. Place
a few handfuls of rice into a plastic bag and then place the wrapped phone in
the bag with rice. The newspaper wrapping avoids direct contact of rice
with your phone because the dust from the rice can get into the small areas of the
phone. The newspaper and rice will absorb moisture. Leave it there (with the
bag open) at least 24 hrs.

well u did a mistake.........u should'nt turn on the phone for a day or two............but its not a big one..........takeout the battery, remove the cover n sim........let it be off for a day or two...it should work properly if still problem exists change the battery........
take a hair drier & dry it fully by removing the panel .... before drying remove the battery ... dmt insert the battery & dry it ... after all the water goes off it will work fine .... if you visit the technician he will also do the same ....he will be just having a handy vaccum cleaner he will do with that ... this will solve the problem ...

If there is no other damage to your phone ie; dropped, water damage, etc, then the problem probably is the battery. If you have insurance with your current carrier, then you can get the phone replaced. This is usually a $50 deductible. Also, there is usually a 12 month Warranty Repair/Replacement option. If you purchased the phone from a retail location and still have the receipt.
