Question about Canon Cameras
If the lens error wont be removed by gently opening the lens cover and nudging the lens left and right, well this is the Common Lens error (most consumers call it that way) this is not your fault the camera just does not hold that much.

Contact http://usa.canon.com, and go to the support page, they'll ask you to print a form, and complete it. They also give you an address to send your camera, it's 100% free, the only thing you have to pay for it the shipping, which isn't expensive at all. You have to send it in to be serviced.
or just call them and let them know, they will walk you through getting it done still
