SOURCE: Netgear Wireless Router

If problems like this persist, Reset the device for 30 seconds. Unplug and replug power cord and try running gaain the software, if still not then i guess you dont have to waste your time on this softwares that does not even help. Call for manual troubleshooting. You will be guided in accessing the set up page of your device and set this manually.

it will take you to a new screen that says services at the top on that screen you need to scroll down at the bottom and look for wlan auto configuration rt click on it and click start if start is greyed out press restart....
close services down..
click start>click connect to form the start menu> and check it gives your network name in there .if it says anything like no network found in range. pls make sure that wireless switch on your laptop is turned on...
if still you're not able to connectr it's a concern with the drivers of wireless adapter on your comp genrally on new comps its quite common get the drivers reinstalled....

SOURCE: dlink dkt-110 wireless router

I have recently bought a second pc for my home, and have bought the dkt 110 router, however i am experiencing problems connect it to my 1st pc. It is saying that i need to check my cables, over and over again.

But according to the router and the internet, both are connected. Then when i try and connect the dongle to the 2nd pc it is saying that it cant find the device. or the windows hasnt recongnised the device.

Any advice on this subject would be most appreciated.

Try booting into safe mode, and disabling the power management for the wireless adaptor (in windows, control panel, system, device manager, then click the plus sign on "network devices" and select the wireless device by right clicking it and selecting the "properties"...one of the tabs will have a setting on the page for power management- (you do NOT want to allow the device to shut itself off).
For a better solution, you'll need to post your OS.

By the way, it might not be the PCI card, but rather your OS, or some hard ware problem (such as RAM or Power Supply failing with the drain from the wireless antenna). Let's start with your OS and rebooting into "safe mode + networking" (hit "f8" while rebooting) once you've turned OFF power management for the wireless PCI device.

Just installed a Netgear Wireless-N 150 router and my other desktop - which has a Linksys Wireless-G PCI adapter (model WMP54G) continually toggels between Acquiring Network Address and Not Connected. Are...

if your useing a G network (the router is a G?) then the adapter will attempt to connect via N you have to tell the adapter to connect via G mode only, it cut the speed in half but it should work.

if you have an N router check to make sure the router will accept an N connection. via the network configuration page. depending on the router that may be at http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.1.255

This is something to try:

Download drivers for your wireless device from this website. Afterward uninstall your wireless adapter. Then re-install it using the drivers you just downloaded. That should repair the issue(s), if not let me know and we'll take a look at other possibilities.

Hi,
Uninstall the driver you are using, and install the one from here:

http://drivers.softpedia.com/get/NETWORK-CARD/OTHER-NETWORK-CARDS/Linksys-Wireless-G-PCI-WMP54G-101.shtml

That'll work in XP and if you want to see if a newer version is available that is compatible with XP, you can Update Driver from the Device Manager and that'll find and install the latest one that still has XP support.

Hope this helps

My wireless network adapter's device driver doesn't work

Download the latest drivers for XP or Vista

Note: If you can't find Vista drivers for Vista use XP drivers.

Uninstall the driver from XP or Vista.
If you have PCMICA adapter card in laptop remove it.
Reboot the PC

Note: If the network adapter is built-in laptop or PCI (desktop) leave it along.

Re-install the drivers and wait for the driver to tell you when to install the device if you have this option and don't have PCMICA card adapter for wireless.

If the card still doesn't work it could be faulty or OS is corrupted and needs to be re-installed. (this would be the last step to fix the problem)
