My ibm wont turn on unless the charger is in it just wont turn on.

The battery must have gone bad! if its three or more years old you need to get a new battery for the computer. Periodic conditioning of the battery from first use may prolong the battery life. Battery life is reduced by plugging computer with battery all the time.
Conditioning. Periodic full charge and full discharge practice is good for battery. Batteries are better charged when they are at less than 10% power and its better to charge them to 100%. Do not leave on electric power once they are fully charged.
I hope this helps in future but current battery may need replacement!

XPS M1210 Laptop not powering up

No Power Issues on Laptops

There are 3 things to consider in order for you to determine a No Power Issue

1. Battery
2. Mother Board
3. AC Adapter

1. Remove the battery from the laptop

2. Disconnect all non essential cables (external hard drive, usb memory key, printer...etc.)just connect the AC Adapter

3. Take out the Battery....Usually there is a battery indicator that you can push at the back of the battery

4. By Now the battery power indicator should be full since it was never taken out

5. If still theres no light on the battery.... replace battery

6. Turn the laptop on without the battery

7. If the computer still did not turned on check the AC Adapter if there is light coming out

8. If there's no light that comes out from the AC Adapter. Reseat the cable from the AC Adapter to the Cord

9. Check if there is no light that comes out from the AC Adapter. AC adapter needs to be replaced

10. Otherwise the Mother Board needs replacing

After about one year of having my Dell Vostro 1320, a message popped up saying that my battery is fully charged, but that I should consider replacing it? How can this be after only one year? Is battery...

Just another example of our throwaway society. I am currently dealing with two cell phones indicating battery failure at an early age and a laptop computer with an "unavailable" replacement battery.

My laptop battery indications indicate to consider replacing battery

I think you should replace it before anything could happen if the battery is not working properly.

Dell latatude D630 is docked/battery flashing 4 red 1 green

4 orange and 1 green can mean a battery malfunction, or it could be an indication that the battery is about to reach the end of its life cycle. When a battery is built, it has a planned expectancy. a date code is stamped in the electronics of the battery pack. as that date code is reached, the indicator lights on the computer let you know the battery (even if its working fine) is considered obsolete and needs to be replaced soon.
