Is this a new radio? If it is then get a return request from Galaxy and send it back. If not new then is it for a friend or from a friend to be repaired. If not either then why did you touch the inside without knowing what to do. Go online to www.cbtricks.com and look up Galaxy, get the service manual and repair it the best you can but when it still doesn't work then take it to a tech and have him do it right.

SOURCE: Hello! I have a Galaxy

I don't understand the keys with no carrier. Either it keys or it doesn't key. The most obvious question is does it have power? Does a transmit light come on when you push-to-talk?
If you have power it sounds like a transmission line problem or an antenna problem. Look on the back of the radio and see if the co-axial plug is still secure.

SOURCE: galaxy 44v no transmit or receive

Try replacing TR41 (2SA473).
Also check TR40 (2SC945), D78 (7.5 volt Zener Diode), and D79 (KB 262).

SOURCE: i have a galaxy 44v it transmits on fm but

Replace the AM final, then make sure your antenna is tuned to lowest SWR to prevent the final from burning out again.

My galaxy Dx 44v does not rec. or transmit when cold. I put my heater on it and in about ten minutes starts to sound like I'm off channel. Another ten minutes and I receive and transmit just fine.????

you should take it to a tech to check it out . there is a symptom called thermal intermittent.when the radio gets hot it stops transmitting.the oposite is also true and to find the problem a soldering iron would work but if you are not careful you could zap the radio..You would need a commercial thermal spot tester to accomplish thischeck the obvious first until you find the actual problem.

Dx 44v diplay out no transmit anybody ?

Sounds like it blowed...check fuse, power wires.. if it got hooked up backwards it will blow a diode in back of radio. Take off cover change all black diodes with a solder gun.

Quiet Galaxy DX 44V

Sounds like you have lost a final or a driver transistor if so a shop or reputable repairman is your best answer. You should also have him check your cables and SWR on your antenna system as well as check for loose grounds. Sounds like you had a high SWR and blew out a final transistor. But it could be as simple as a loose component or cold solder joint in the radio. Get professional help.

When mixing crystal for different bands, your RX will be affected by the swap as well. I get this every once in a great while, if you want to ship it in I can do the alignments for you here at the shop. dodgem250.com
