I had this same problem with my 47LG70.

The menu option would pop up and cycle through the different options and beep. The remote control wouldn't work until it finished its freak out. This would happen through out the day.

So to fix this, you have two options. You can do it yourself and save money, or you can contact your local LG repair tech and have them do it.

I would suggest doing it yourself.

The part your'll need to buy is the "Sub PCB assembly", part number 510 here. It's from the Sears Direct website.

You can also buy part direct from LG parts provider here.

Lay your TV on the floor and simply remove the back housing. Locate the side sub pcb "printed circuit board" and remove it from the clips. Install the new one and screw the back housing back on.

Finished. Plug your TV in and its should start working fine.

Enjoy. Have fun. Don't Stress.

Free fix. I had the same issue, I took a couple screws off the back left side of the tv, unplugged the wiring harness that ran from the side touch buttons to the pcb and my tv works perfectly again. I never used those buttons anyways so that was the perfect fix for me.

Hi CindyCee,

I have tried to post solutions, but they seem to be too long, so I will have to post more than once to get the info to you.

First part- the "Line-In" Video Source thing many people are having fun with. Try these options from the Samsung FAQs website.:

How Do You Switch Video Sources? spacer.gif Depending on the model TV you have, there are up to four ways to change the video source:

My Hisense lcd is lock.

This is how I got mine to work after weeks of struggling just trying to find a new remote (hisense is really hard to contact....).
1) Turn the TV ON. unplug the tv while still ON 2) hold down the "menu" button on the side of the TV and plug it back in. keep holding it down. the TV should turn on with the menu popping up. use the Vol <> keys and Channel <> keys to navigate the menu. go to the Vchip menu, and play around. I'm not sure what ultimately worked, but i changed the Vchip password to 1111, turned the reset menu to "on" and played around with the ratings settings (turning most of them to "u"s etc).
I went through this process several times and finally, the black background behind the menu turned to static. I played around with the channels, and the TV was unlocked. I turned the TV off, and then on again, and the channels showed up normally (no static). and it was no longer locked. I had to do the unplug thing several times, and was getting really frustrated looking for an "unlock code" in the manual (it just says press the button on the remote. so it was not really helpful).
But really, once you can just get to that menu you've made some progress, and just keep playing around with it until something works.
Best of luck!!
