Question about Frigidaire Dishwashers

1 Answer

I have a three year old Frigidaire diswasher (FDB2510LCCI). When I turn it on to any cycle (pots/pans, china, normal, etc) it fills with water normally until it switches to the wash mode. All that happens in the wash mode is the timer runs through it's wash cycle time - nothing else happens - it doesn't make any noise like it's washing, the arms don't spray or spin. Once the timer switches to drain, it drains normally, then fills again with water for the rinse cycle. Again, during the rinse cycle - nothing at all happens except the times times down for the rinse time. Then it drains again and goes into the dry cycle normally. Why does nothing at all happen during the wash and rinse cycles?

Refer this diagram. Looks like the wash motor (item 70) is faulty.

Why does our dishwasher drain when large items are put through?

if your question is why does the washer drain first when pots and pans mode is selected? the answer is mfg. have realized that most everyone prerinses there pots and pans first , this makes a lot of water drips in bottom of washer this affects the volume of new water it can allow to enter , so they have made it pump out first for a \few minutes when first turned on in that mode ,it should fill after that and wash normally , also this is why its important to use soap dispensers and not just toss the soap in as it may get rinsed away in first few minutes and not get to wash cycle

Frigidaire FFBD2403LW normal cycle hum

Hello ddux97 - Often this occurs because either not enough water is being pumped to the spray arm or in other words the full flow of water is not making it to the upper spray arm. Will the spray arm rotate freely? If it does not, then you might have to remove or replace the spray arm assemblies since it is possibly damaged. Confirm that the drain hose is strapped up properly under the sink to prevent the water from siphoning out during the cycle. If issue persists, I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if the unit's status has changed successfully.

Do not get a cold water wash from front load fridgidaire only hot

most diswashers only hook from the left side under the sink which is hot, some dishwashers on hot make the water extra hot with the bottom element for pots and pans, sounds like your dishwasher is working properly, you need hot water to sterilize. Rob

Soap not Disolving

possibly the water is not hot enough, it needs to be hooked up to a hot water line ONLY. also check to see what cycle the dishwasher is set at, there are three or four different settings. start off by using the pots and pans cycle because that cycle will delay the wash to superheat the water.
remember hot water only and water should be set at 120 degrees.
good luck to ya

The dishwasher does not drain water

I had the same problem after a year of use. All the cycle sounded good except for the drain. I disconnected the drain hose with all turned off and only a small amount of water came out ( the inside pan was full ) I then stuck it to my mouth ( gross ) and nothing but back pressure. Another great heave and POW a wad of grease came out. In short by wife poured some fresh stock down the drain which backed into the drain pipe and cooled. Done.

Frigidaire Washer - FTF2140FS1 - fills with water, but won't complete cycle

The water level sensor or float switch may be faulty. If the unit does not sense that the water is at the right level nothing will happen. When the water filling rate appears very slow, the inlet water filters may be clogged. Although not that common the inlet solenoid valve can jam and only partially lift. The cycle timer or program circuit board may be faulty

Not enough water in tub

Mderford, on a normal fill, the water should be just above the filter screen. 1.8 gallons first fill, 1.7 on all other fills. Don't think it would be a siphoning problem as you are not having this on the pots/pans. Check the float, make sure it is not sticking. You can check the inlet valve filter screen to see if it is not plugged. Run it through the diagnostics cycle by pushing high temp-air dry-high temp-air dry. Some models it's heated dry-normal-heated dry-normal. It will run through a self test for about 20 minutes. See if any error codes come up. Fill time should be approx. 1:30 to 1:40 seconds. If any of the aformentioned doesn't turn up any results, then it's possibly a faulty fill valve drive circuit on the control itself...Catriver..post back.
