Did you just replace a cartridge? In any event, see this HP support article and follow the instructions. You may need to clean the cartridge and printer contacts for the cartridge to work correctly. Do this while the printer is turned off. Wait until the contacts are both thoroughly dry, then reinstall the cartridges with the printer on. (See here.)
If you have other questions about this model, your product home support page is here.
I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.
If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take just a moment to rate this post....thanks!

While the print function will still work, the copy function won't work if ink is low.

severe cartridge error related message, on the HP C4600, C4700 or D110a printer
models, I suggest you run the internal Tap 41 diagnostics test which will tell
you the electrical health of the ink cartridge - in many cases the cartridge is
internally electrically damaged and will need to be replaced. In addition, you
can temporarily bypass an 'incompatible cartridge(s) or Missing/Not Detected
error message by performing the Cartridge Error Bypass procedure...refer to two
