No power on

If the power plug is well conected at both the monitor and on at the wall socket. Then it could be that the capacitors have died.

What you would want to do, and it is worth trying, is to try another 3 pin power cord. These power cords do fail. So therefore it is also possible that your power cable has died.

Try the one from your computer's power supply.

Take care!

INPUT2: HD15 keeps coming up on my screen. i cant get through it. do i need to buy new input2: HD15 cable? the monitor is sony make and the hardrive is fujitsu siemens computer make

more information is needed for this question to be answered properly
im going to guss that this is your conection cable from video card to your monitor
try disconecting and reconecting the cable making shur that the cable is firmly conected at both ends
its posible that part of the tower case is preventing the full insertion of the cable into the socket
cut away 1/8 inch of the ruber shielding around the pc side of the cable so that it can fully be inserted into the conection
check that the pins on the male conection arn't bent or broken off

also run your closed hand down the cable itself checking for cracks cuts or breaks in the cable

if any problem is seen replace the cable if any pins are broken off check the femal reciver for the broken of part of the pin so as to not damage anothere cord
good luck

Power jack is broke. want to connect to battery pins off motherboard. need pin assignments. i found them for the power jack but cant find for battery connection.

it is nearly just as easy to cut the conection of the power cord and weld it strait to the board where the conection was, or use a volt meter and trace the conections back to some where more stable, conecting strait to battery will or might do damage and the laptop will think it is always running of the battery. and or also could over charge the battery because you are bypassing the switch that stops it. hope this helps a bit.

Pin from motherboard is broken. No more power

You'll need to replace the power jack.

Most shops / techs charge $75-100 but that depends on your location.

If you do itself it's about $10 for the jack.

You can get them on eBay fairly easy.

This type of repair is not covered under warranty.

Best of luck!

The pin that the power cord goes into has broken off

Is the cord broken in the computer, or the monitor or the pin broken and stuck in the machine? If it is in a desktop it goes into the power supply. Which you can change the whole power supply fairly cheap. that is if it in a desk top computer. 4 screws, 4 or 5 connectors and ta da new power supply, All you need is readings off power supply such as wattage. Good luck

The laptop won't power up

remove the battery from the laptop and try to start it on AC power only, this will eliminate the possibility of the AC adaptor on the laptop hasn't snapped
post back please

Power connection trouble

It sounds as if the power pin (where the AC cord connects to the computer) has become unsoldered. To fix it usually runs $100-200. Because the connector pin is so fragile, the damage to the pin is caused by the day to day tugging and pulling on the power cord.

What you needed when you got the computer is a cable stay or cable retention device like the Jerkstopper. It takes up the strain when you yank or tug the power cord and minimizes the damage to the power pin. It's a very common problem with laptops.

Here's a short video that talks about the problem. . . .

Hp ZE2000 laptop Don't turn on???

It may be the ac connector but a Notebook has the Battery too...
borrow a fully charged Battery that fits your Laptop and with every thing else Removed insert the Full battery in your computer then Turn it on.
If it works u know it is the AC conecter that can be fixed with a Replacement.
otherwise Your Notebook needs to be serviced at a service center.

No power

A broken power pin is quite common on laptop computers. The pin gets damaged from plugging and unplugging the cord plus all the daily tugs and pulls on the cord. The cumulative damage breaks the connection from the power pin connector to the motherboard.

If you are mechanically inclined the repair can be made pretty easily. The pin usually runs anywhere from $5 - $15. It's the labor at a shop that is expensive ($99 - $250 or more).

Once you get the system repaired get a Cable Retention device and use it religiously so the problem doesn't reoccur.

Here's a video about the problem and the JerkStopper AC Cable Retention kit.
