I contacted the manufacturer. They had the feet at $4.70 per package of four feet. I ordered two packages. I received what they sent today. The shipment included ONE package of feet, A BILL for $4.70, TAX of $.61 and Postage and Handling at $3.99 for a total of $9.30 for four feet. When I checked online the see if there were any other sources, I entered the item number, 84544-0. and found PLUMBERSURPLUS.COM. They had the same feet at $3.22 per package of four; NO tax and FREE shipping. I ordered two packages for a total cost of $6.44.

So my Solution is to bypass Kohler,, which is a bit on the greedy side, and buy these feet directly from PLUMBER SURPLUS or whatever online site offers the best deal. I would continue to use Kohler to get part numbers as needed but, unless you're into philanthropy for large corporations, do not buy from Kohler. Best of luck.

UPDATE: I received my shipment of feet today, well packaged with FAST SHIPMENT. Exactly the same genuine Kohler part that Kohler sent but at essentially half the price as the one from Kohler.

I had on hand a package of various types of the stick on felt feet for chairs or whatever. In the package also included long strips of the same type, so I used those and just fold them over around the wire at each corner of my basket so they would then wrap around the wire and then stick to each other. I trimmed off the excess length. Works like a charm and easily replaced.

If you need new sink strainer basket for disposal side of sink, you have to buy new disposal.

Each garbage disposal comes with its own strainer basket so that disposal can connect and seal.

First, the disposal strainer basket is installed, and then disposal lifts up and attaches from below.
A rubber gasket comes with new disposal.
Rubber gasket fits between disposal and strainer basket so that disposal seals correctly.

My garbage does not work.it makes humming sound for few seconds but does not rotate blades.

Use a broomstick handle to see if disposal blades rotate freely
If blades are stuck, use broomstick to wedge blades free.

If blades rotate freely, and motor does not turn on, then garbage disposal is broken.
Disposal mechanism cannot be disassembled for repairs.
Disposal will need to be replaced at some point.

I wrote tips for replacing disposal from days when I worked apartment maintenance.

Here are basic disposal parts:
1) Sink basket that connects to sink and is held with 3 screws from below.
2) Disposal body which connects to sink basket using metal ring.
3) Rubber washer between disposal and sink basket.
4) Dishwasher connection at upper part of disposal with a hose.
5) Electric wire from disposal switch connects to disposal near red reset button.
6) Tubular drain pipe connection on side of disposal

In apartment maintenance, we replaced disposal with same size and brand disposal.
That way we didn't have to change out sink basket or move pipes around under the sink.
How to: Disconnect 2 nuts on p-trap and trap falls loose.
Using hammer and screwdriver, rotate steel connector disk that holds disposal to sink basket, and disposal comes off.
Before installing new disposal.
Attach electric wire to new disposal, black wire to black and white to white, and push in red reset button.
Attach dishwasher tube to new disposal. Knock out plug inside dishwasher opening.
Lift new disposal up into place, and attach to old sink basket.
There is a rubber washer between disposal and sink basket, Use new washer.
Connector ring catches at three points, all three have to connect.
You can use bottle jack to lift disposal if you have problem.
Re-assemble tubular pipe.

If this is your home, you want new sink basket that comes with new disposal because it looks shiny and new.
Buy a tub of plumbers putty also.
Remove 3 screws that hold sink basket, remove basket and clean sink opening.
Put finger-size roll of plumbers putty around sink opening, and then push new strainer basket into plumbers putty.
Tighten basket from below, wipe away excess putty around sink opening.
Install new disposal as described above.

Tips for tubular pipes:
When taking apart tubular pipes, start at p-trap and take apart as few pieces as needed to do job.
On image above, loosen both upper and lower nuts, trap falls loose, and then work on disposal.
Any tubular drain pipe that gets moved while working under sink needs to be disassembled, cleaned and re-assembled.
Metal pipes have rubber washer >> always use new rubber washers.
Plastic pipes have plastic washers > plastic washers can be cleaned and re-used.
Plastic washers have flat side that goes toward nut, tapered side away from nut.

geno_3245_254.jpg

When reassembling tubular pipe, we use rectorseal on washers and joints.
Always slap a good amount all around washer just before pushing washer in place and attaching nut.
Rectorseal will ensure tubular drain pipes won't leak.

Making a metal grinding sound when turns on but dont feel any forks or spoons in it

Garbage disposals can get noisy and sound like they're eating spoons instead of banana peel.
You can put vacuum hose in sink opening and see if something is in there.
As long as disposal disk rotates freely, and disposal is not shaking around and causing pipes to leak, then you can use it until it dies.
Otherwise, the bearing is probably rusted, or something is loose. Disposals rust out and eventually freeze, or the motor slows down and overheats, or they rust a hole and water leaks under sink.

How do you disassemble the Badger5 1/2 horsepower sink erator.model #5-81

The badger has two parts:
1) The sink strainer basket that attaches to sink with three screws visible from below.
2) The disposal which connects to sink basket with connector ring.
There is a rubber washer between disposal and sink basket

If you drop disposal loose from the sink, you can get spoons and other stuff out.
The disposal itself does not come apart for repairs.

There is water leaking down the electric wire at the bottom of the unit. What could cause this? the unit works just fine.

Once disposal rusts out, it needs replacement.
Usually if sink basket seal is broken or if dishwasher attachment is leaking, you can feel water near top of disposal.
Use paper towel at top to see if that area is wet.
If top area is dry, then water is coming from inside disposal, and disposal is rusted out.

If sink seal is still good, we used to buy same brand disposal and re-attach to same sink basket. That's the quick fix.
If this is inside your home, you probably want to install new sink basket that comes with disposal.

To install new disposal, also buy container of plumber's putty to seal sink basket.
Remove disposal.
Clean off old putty on sink. It will chip off easily.
Apply finger-thick amount of plumbers putty to sink opening.
Set disposal sink basket into putty and push down.
Tighten screws on bottom of sink basket.
Wipe away excess plumber's putty from sink so it looks nice and smooth.

Before lifting disposal into place, attach electric wires and attach dishwasher hose to disposal.
Use hammer and screwdriver to remove steel blocker located inside dishwasher stem ... the blocker is left in place if no dishwasher hose is attached.
Disposals can be different: But here's the usual sequence:
Lift disposal with one hand and hold level. Push up strong while rotating attachment ring until ring grabs bottom of sink basket.
If you cannot lift disposal with one hand while rotating attachment ring with other hand, use small bottle jack from auto-parts store. And put piece of wood between bottle jack and aluminum disposal so disposal doesn't break.

Here's how to handle tubular pipes below sink:
Any tubular pipe joint that moved while removing or installing disposal, has to be taken apart, cleaned and re-attached.
If washers are plastic, then clean and re-use.
If washers are rubber, then replace each washer with new rubber washer.
When reattaching tubular pipes, apply generous amount of rectorseal over each plastic or rubber washer for first-time seal of tubular pipes.
