Question about Sony VAIO® VGC-RC310G PC Desktop

I have a sony vaio VGC desk top - it is probably 6 years old or so. I went to start it th other day and it sounds like its firing up and you can hear the fan working - then a constant beep noise starts and will not stop unless you turn the unit off. Monitor will not display any boot up as it should. I have already opened it vacuumed the unit and switch the memory boards more then 2 times Please help

The constant beep signifies that one or more RAM has(ve) been dislocated from the RAM socket(s). Try to re-assemble the RAM(s) into the proper position(s) and re-start your computer. I hope this will work the best for you.

Please check your video card for dirty conection ports and has it cleaned . Retry your PC. If problem persist, your video card is defective and need for replacement.

It sounds like the video chip on Motherboard went out. You should have the motherboard replaced if possible.

Click on the desk top and choose personalize. Then select background or desktop display to choose appropriate display layout or picture you desire.

If you are not able to get the disc tray to open itself, you can manually open it before starting the computer by pressing a paperclip into the tiny hole on the front. This manually releases the tray. Then start it up, and try to enter the BIOS setup by pressing F2. In the BIOS setup, make sure that the bootup priority is set to the CDROM drive. Restart, and hope for the best! :)

I don't know if this is the solution you're looking for but if it's less than a year old I would say call sony and get a replacement drive. They may even be required to have a year hardware warranty (but don't quote me on that). That would actually be much faster/easier than searching the internet for a firmware fix that may or may not exist or help at all.

Having speakers to work on vizo desk top . all in on desktop!


Go to control panel>hardware and sound>Sound...Then make sure the speakers are set as your default device.
