Question about Datamax E-Class E-4203 Thermal Label Printer

1 Answer

Hi! I have a problem with my office Datamax E class printer. When i change tickets in the printer it doesn't print them the right size - normally they are too short. Do you have any idea how to solve that problem? Thank you. Regards, Mirjam

If you are changing length(feed length) you may have to recalibrate the printer . Also ensure that your print format is the correct length for the stock.
You can look at the setup of the printer using the datamax-oneil printer configutation program, or if it is using IP connection, you can go directly to the internal web page for set up. make the cal length 3 times the label length, or leave at the default value.

Datamax 6" W class printer blocking out parts of data

It may be that the print head or the platen roller is damaged. Print a test print and if printed well, then adjusts the design program and the driver, the correct dimensions of the size of the label. If you are printing wrong, may be the printhead adjust, or need to change the head and the platen roller.

Can I use the print perferences to configure the datamax M Class that doesn't have a display window

Yes, you can use the print preferences to configure the Mclass printer depending on the settings you want to make. You can change the print speed, heat, and even send commands to the printer if you wanted to. However, a much better solution to make changes in the printer to download the Datamax Printer Configuration utility from here: ftp://ftp.datamaxcorp.com/dmxConfig/Datamax%20Printer%20Configuration%20Utility.exe . This allows you to make changes in the printer without the need to use the buttons in the front panel. Hope this helps.

Perhaps the sensor is out of position, you must move to the left. Also check that the hole senser is not blocked. Also verified that the sensor type (gap or black mark) in the software is correct.

If you use ms-access you must have installed the windows driver, therefore you must enable the cutter in the printer properties. Position fault is that it does not detect the label, must be press the FEED key or to calibrate, press the FEED key for 5 seconds to calibrate the sensor label.

Datamax M-4206 printing too slow

Hello,

The way you can do this is to use Datamax fonts in your LabelMatrix program instead of truetype fonts like arial or times new roman. After making this change, do a test print and see if print improves. Another possible solution is use USB instead of Parallel cable (if you're not using it already).

Advances ticket too far after printing.

your label length is set incorrectly, there are 2 things it could be
1) your software is telling the printer the label length is longer then the current labels, even if the label size is out my a single millimeter the printer will give you this issue of feed an extra label. you need to change this in your software. you can set a label size smaller then the current label size and it will work correctly

2) you software is not setting a label length and so the printer is going off its internal setting, to recalibrate hold feed and power up the printer letting go after the light starts flashing

it is important to note that label roll will change slightly over time so even though you are ordering the same labels as a year ago the manufacturer will have slight changes from batch to batch
