My Hunter remote controlled fan worked great for the first few years, but now the the light comes on and the fan turns off at the same time without me touching the remote or the switch on the wall. Wakes me up in the middle of the night!!!! I tried changing the frequency, but still having this problem. I am about to buy a new fan altogether, but this time it will be a manual operated one.

you may have a defective remote reciver or even a bad remote.

Take the battery's out of the remote for a couple of days, if the fan turns on, the remote is good.
you can have the remote receiver replaced, they run around $60.00
