Question about HP OfficeJet 7410 All-In-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

Hp 7410 all-in-one won't power on - the screen comes on ("hp invent" with the activity bar), but the green light is not illuminated on the "power" button - and it's just stuck on this "invent" screen. it won't power off either - nothing happens when i hit the power button; however, every couple minutes, the screen goes dark for about 0.5 seconds and then is stuck on the "invent" screen again. it worked before i shut it down a week and a half ago - i printed boarding passes, powered it down and ran out the door. it's been like this since i turned it on yesterday. (and yes, i've also tried unplugging it for an extended period of time). HELP!!

The screen on my 7410 says HP invent with a moving bar on bottom and wont respond to anything. I have turnrd power of and it keeps coming up with same. Any idea?

When the software is installed for the printer, one of the applications that is added to the system is the HP Director. There are times when this application does not open on systems that are running the Windows XP operating system. One way to correct this is to run the program from the HP program group from the "All Programs" option on the Start menu. The application will load into the computer's memory but does not appear on the screen. Press "ALT" + space bar to view the shortcut menu. Select "minimize" to display the program on the taskbar. Another option is to update the program by visiting the HP Software Download Page (see Resources).

HP 7410 will not boot. It powers up and the HP logo screen flashe

This was solved really well on this blog. It is some problem with the wifi board. If you disconnect it (no so hard and well explained on the blog) you will have network printing over a cable but no wireless.

HP 7410 will not boot. It powers up and the HP logo appears on the screen with a progress bar. The display then scrambles and the power light flashes green. No buttons work or do anything.

connect the printer directly to the wall socket for the power supply if it is connected thrugh surge protector.
perform a reset :

unplug the power cable .
press and hold # and 6 key on the printer..
plug in the cable wait for 20 secs then release the buttons..
after this the printer will re-initialize .. this may take few mins..

and chek after that

HP Officejet 7410 Display HP logo and Invent

Hello.
I'm afraid this one is a critical issue. If your product is in warranty or out of warranty , it would be better to upgrade to a newer model as this is a serious flaw in the printer.

all the best.
