Question about Frigidaire FDL45P1 Dehumidifier

Continuous Dehumidifier Operation issue

Hi - I called frigidaire but they have no technical support line and I would actually need a tech to come out. Did you find out anything on this?

Unfortunately, I haven't been able to get the water from the dehumidifier to drain out the hose. It always empties into the bucket, which means I have to empty it daily.

Go on-line and type the name and model number of your dehumidifier into the box of your search engine. I am an instrument tech and most companies post their manuals and info on-line so they don't have to pay someone to answer customer phone calls. Just print out the manual and you're good to go.

I have a FAD 704 DWD, does it not have a power on light? I called for a question regarding a different issue and the service tech said it was very bad to not have the on light "on".

I understand that the power light on your Frigidaire dehumidifier is not showing you the power light is on. It sounds like you could have an issue with your control panel. If your dehumidifier is running it could be that the light has failed. If you have a current warranty I would reach out to your manufacturer to see if they have a resolution for such an issue. Typically there are one or two reasons why your dehumidifier is not collecting water. Either the setting might be set too high or not enough moisture in the room. I suggest changing the set point to a lower setting. Ashumiditydrops in the room the amount of water will decrease and very little water may be generated even when in continuous mode. If these basictroubleshootingtips prove ineffective, then your dehumidifier may possibly have system issues. Is your dehumidifier still in warranty? If so, you might want to reach out directly to the manufacturer to determine the coverage on your dehumidifier and the procedures to any potential remedy in that regard. Best!

Clean frigidaire dehumidifier cooling coil

The best way to clean the coils is by using a brush attachment from your vacuum. Typically there are one or two reasons why your dehumidifier is not collecting water. Why compressor comes on for a second then shuts off


Good Morning Friend,

I understand that the compressor on your Frigidaire dehumidifier, model# FAD504TDD, comes on for a second and then shuts off. First, make sure that when you are first turning your dehumidifier on that you put it in continuous mode. After about 3 days of continuous mode, set your appliance to the humidity level you would like. Secondly, the "Compressor" circuit has an automatic 3 minute time delayed start if the unit is turned off and on quickly. This prevents overheating of the compressor and possible circuit breaker tripping. Thirdly, make sure the tank is fitted correctly otherwise your dehumidifier will not turn on. Lastly, make sure your dehumidifier has sufficient clearance to operate. There should be a minimum of 12 inches clearance around your dehumidifier. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your dehumidifier status has changed successfully.
