No, you don't need to buy another unit as long as your ceiling fan motor still in good condition. most probably the cause of the blackout is the overload of the fan motor when the fan blades entangled with the sheets and it trips the breaker due to over current.
if your fan still runs by now then it is ok. to be sure, have it checked for a qualified person.
