I think that the machine needs to be professional serviced, sounds like the timing is messed up. Don't forget school machines have lots of different users and you have no idea when it was serviced last. I am sure that your daughter didn't cause the problem.

I have a Bernina 350 SE. Trouble with buttonholes: thread accumulates in lumps intermittently. Stitches become very small, fabric stops advancing, thread piles up.

Have you tried re-threading the top thread? Sometimes the stitches get small and pull tightly because the thread is looped around a guide or the thread spool. Just a thought as that happens frequently with my machine.

My bobbin thread keeps getting tangled...the machine is brand new, I've triple-checked the tension, my needle is sharp, and there is no lint. Please help!

hi, well i going to state something silly so please don't have a go because they are excellent sewing machines,. is it tangling under underneath ?? the footer plate ,

Okay main cause that people over look, Thread diameter ???

Have you fed the thread correctly ???

Does the tension actually make the thread harder to pull, this is a very common problem , has the tension dial has become damaged or simply not assembled correctly ???

Sews 1/4" and then sews in place

1) remove upper and bottom threads. Try sew without threads.
Is fabric transported corectly?

- Drop feed dog button is OFF
- Dust under stitch plate
- Transporter malfunction (must be taken for a service to the BERNINA dealer)

- Upper or bottom thread jammed
- The upper thread tension is too tight.
- Wrong needle used (probably small ...)

The best place is to find out who services the schools sewing machines and you will find you will get that part fromn that dealer because they are always breaking Berninas.

My sewing machine will not pick up the bobbin thread. It sounds normal and pulls the fabric through, but the threads do not intertwine. I had been having problems with the bottom thread clogging and...

when the needle pulls the fabric into the feed dog you dont have enough fabric behund the neelde when you srart, and the fabric gets caught in the feed and the bobbin case underneath clean it out anf change the needle they often get bent after they get tangled in the thread and fabric
