I added a 2x4 between the seat bars and the cross brace, then used a long screw, fender washer, lock nut to secure the lower plastic and seat together. It was a terrible design to clamp two plastic items between a smooth metal bar in the first place, then on top of this to use a nut that is molded into the plastic and stretches out of the plastic with each stroke of the pedal.

Seat won't move forward, cant get to the rear bolts to remove seat because seat is back as far as it can go is there any way to move the seat manually

You must remove the seat from the power seat transmission then remove the drive motor from the seat transmission, move the seat to the desired position and reinstall the motor to lock it in place. The seat transmission is bolted to the seat mounting bracket/rails.

I need to cahnge the power seat track on a 99 town car. Mine will not go front or back. I need to remove a replacement from a pick and pull. I can get to three nuts but cant get to the one iin the rear...

The seat track you need will have to either need power or be aligned so you can reach its' mounting bolts too. You will be able to see how the gear drive is attached on the replacement seat track. You may be able to unbolt the gear drive from the track on your damaged part. Then the seat should slide either way without the drive gears stopping you from moving the seat. Sometimes there is only room for a air ratchet to fit as the bolt can spin without having to move the ratchet handle.

Power seat still wont move

uys what I found on mine was under the fuse box panel, Ford did a factory splice.Orange w green stripe wire or vice versa been a while, that splice turned green and coroded inside. All i had to do was replace that splice with my own and all three worked again.Quite an easy fix.Good luck.

Apparently you are not the only one with this problem!
