Question about LG DLE2516 Electric Dryer

1 Answer

We have a LG DLE2516W dryer. It does not get hot enough to dry clothes in less than two hours. We have checked the lint drap and the vent pipe. Both are clean. It does not matter whether there is a small load or a large load. Also thru the vent it only blows lukewarm air even when we have it on high for 60 minutes. What could the problem be?

It could be a thermostat in the unit there are two and it could be registering wrong and shutting down the fire early. No way to check them though unless you put a tester on them while its running and see if they are shutting off the fire during a cycle

My LG front loading dryer doesn't dry well

Check the exhaust vent when running and be sure there is a good flow of air. You may have to clean the exhaust pipes all the way through. Dryers require a good flow of air for proper operation.

Dryer has to run two or three times to dry clothes seem to be hot enought. any suggestions

Check your lint filter. Keep it clean every time you dry clothes. If it is clean ther is a good chance the hose that carries the hot air and lint from machine to the outside of the building. Also the lint fan may be burned ot. YOu should feel air blowing when you pull the lint filter out of the machine. If not the motor is shot.

DLG5988S gas dryer takes long time to dry cloths in either mositure sensor mode or timerd mode. I have throughly cleaned the dryer exhaust and internal part of dryer where all electronics and controls are...

How long is the exhaust venting system from the dryer to the outside, where it vents? The dryer is not equipped to push air through any pipe that is too much past 8-10'. Each 90 degree bend in the pipe adds 3-5', so a few feet plus a few 90 degree turns makes it nearly impossible for the dryer to do a good job drying clothes. I own a Tjernlund LB1 dryer boost fan and it works wonderfully - a great solution to drying clothes in a reasonable amount of time with much less wear and tear on my dryer.

Here is another idea - I recently opened up my dryer to fix a problem and found that the interior exhaust pipe - the part that takes the exhaust air out of the dryer, into the vent pipe on the back of the dryer and eventually outside - had become disconnected INSIDE the dryer. The dryer itself was full of lint and the air wasn't getting out of the dryer at all. If you have this problem you'll also have a lint problem, so check this out - it would be an easy thing to fix.

LG DL2610 model does not dry, it turns on properly

Check your vent. Make sure there is a strong flow of air out the outside vent cap. If not, your dryer is not able to get rid of the moisture. Check for lint build up inside vent piping and for crushed flex vent pipe behind dryer which would obstruct air flow.

Dryer has hot air but takes 2-3 hours to dry clothes. What can I do?

This is almost always due to lint build up in the vent pipe. pull the dryer out from the wall, disconnect the vent pipe. look inside the rear of the dryer and into the pipe. remove lint that is present. go out doors and examine the vent from that end. finally remove the lint catcher in the dryer and look in there. remove any lint you see.
