There should be a phone lead socket in the back of the modem (assuming it is ADSL) and a connector for the ethernet cable, the phone lead should moreover be connected to a splitter before the other end is connected to the phone out socket

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

Very slow on net am using a modem

Greetings Charles,
When you say "Using a modem" that could be several different devices. Is it a Telephone Modem that is connected to a telephone line and then to your computer such as a 56k? Or a modem that is connected to a Cable or Router as a gateway? If its a old style modem over the phone line such as a US Robtics etc. then there is several things we can check. If its a Modem connected to a router as such for a Gateway router like a Linksys etc. Then let me know by just responding to this post.
Thanks
Chadman

Using a ppoe connection to a DI-524 is it necessary to put a modem in line?

DSL connection:

Computer -> Router(Dlink) -> DSL Modem -> Telephone wall jack/outlet

OR

Computer -> DSL Modem -> Telephone wall jack/outlet

PPPOE = using a username/password combination to authenticate the connection to the ISP.

Installing a internet modem

you open case
have comp turned completly off
install ethernet card into proper slot screw down
turn on comp goto control panel network setup wizard follow instructions from there

remember first your modem has to be recognized by your service provider first before you can get that connection and they give you the service to connect

say like cox qwest or other service provider

Cannot send or recieve faxes

You cannot send a fax on a broadband connection, they should have given you a splitter, if not get one, the splitter is a small box like thing, it has two telephone sockets on one side and one socket on the other, the telephone line from the wall is connected on one side, on the other side you have to connect your adsl modem in one and your telephone in another socket, Usually the sockets have descriptions on them specifing which decive should be connected to the socket.

Now you should have a dial up modem(56Kbps internal or external modem) connect this modem to the socket which specifies, Telephone. Configure the modem. configure yor fax settings to use this modem. Now you can send your faxes.

If your ISP does not support dial-up then you cannot use it to send faxes.

Post back with your results.
