SOURCE: freezer cold but not fridge

too much ice bulid up will stop enough cold air being blown into the fridge.Try turning it off letting all ice melt then turn it back on again and set thermostat at a lower temp. There may be ice you can't see.

SOURCE: Frozen vents from freezer to fridge

you most likely have a defrost problem.or a clogged drain.you need to check your defrost heater defrost timer and thermostat.if ice is formed over drain then you can unclog drain with hot water.you will see when it is unclogged, water will run down drain without running over into bottom of freezer.

SOURCE: freezer keeps frosting up and fridge doesn't get cold enough

Your defrost system isn't working. Check your defrost heater, defrost thermostat. http://www.acmehowto.com/howto/appliance/refrigerator/refrigerator.php If they are OK the problem is the electronic control. Part 32 on this diagram. http://www.appliancepartspros.com/sect/i/2/w/i2wajbeu9f.gif

SOURCE: fridge/freezer not getting cold

Hi,

As the weather is getting warmer for many people their freezer2_bing.gif and/or refrigerator do not work right because of a dirty condenser coil...

Check out this tip that I wrote about that... it is a great place to start trouble shooting your unit...and something that you can do rather then calling a repair person to do a simple thing for you...

GE Profile Refridgerator side warm, freezer ok?

Fridge gets cold air from freezer to cool it. Your freezer is fine but not enough cold air is getting into fridge compartment. U have some dampers or louvers that direct air flow to fridge and if they are not set properly cooling will not be adequate. Check those out.

I have a kitchenaid superba ksrs25ilwh side by side fridge. The freezer is working fine but the fridge wont get cold enough even at the lowest temp

check the damper vent door for proper opening and closing as if this door is frozen shut or broken and jammed it cant open to let cold air in from freezer it will be behind a plastic grille between the freezer and fridge compartments and you should hear a fan in there running to move cold air too

Freezer seems to be working fine but fridge is not cold... fridge is on top of freezer, it is a frost free zanussi, not sure which model thou, just coming up to 5 yrs old ? any help would be great thanks

A fan controlled by a thermostat is required to move the cold air from the freezer to the refrigerator for cooling. Use a volt meter testing the voltage on the fan. If you have voltage it is a bad fan. If you do not get a voltage test the thermostat. If it measures zero ohms short the thermal switch or if it is a short open one lead. If the fan works replace the thermal switch.

Fridge not cold as should be

The fridge gets its cold air from the freezer through a vent(damper) between the freezer and fridge. The fan in the freezer blows air through it. There is a flap you adjust with the fridge temp. control. Make sure it's opening and closing when you adjust the fridge temp .

OR.
If the evaporator coils behind the back panel of the freezer are icing up because of auto defrost failure that will stop the circulation of cold air and eventually affect the freezer too.

check defrost timer, defrost heater, defrost thermostat. In most newer models the timer has been replaced by an electronic control board. If the heater and thermostat are ok it’ll be the control.

You can turn the defrost timer till it clicks and everything shuts down. The heater should now come on. If it does, replace the timer. If it doesn't, check the heater and defrost thermostat. Turn the timer again till everything starts back up to end the defrost cycle.

Loud buzzing noise from compressor area and freezer not cold enough

I have a 1.5 year old GE refrigerator and freezer. This unit had not given me any problems until 2 days ago when I constantly heard a loud buzzing sound coming from the freezer. I called GE and Best Buy (bought it there) and asked to troubleshoot this over the phone. They suggested sending a technician over for $100 just for the visit + labor + parts which could add up to hundreds of dollars. So, I researched the web and blogs like this. The answer to my problem was simple. Something that I placed inside the freezer was blocking the air circulation vent. So, I turned off the whole refridgerator and I removed everything from my freezer. For good measure I dislodged some ice and frost that had developed over the vent. I carefully put back everything into the freezer, but this time being careful not to block the vent. I turned on the power and voila! No more buzzing sound!!! I hope this works for you too.

Refrigerator will not stay cold

Bought a second hand fridge that was running well. We layed the fridge on it's side for moving and let it stand upright for at least 4 hours. The moving was only 45 minutes. The freezer is semi-cold but the main body of the fridge stays at aprox. 68 degrees. Any solutions.
