Question about Heating & Cooling

Open Question

How do I stop a dripping tap on a triton t30i 3kw Handwasher? Your help would be greatly appreciated. If it's a "O" ring I could probably do this myself but would need to know what size "O" ring need. Thanks

Water leaking (dripping) into the drum when machine is off. Drip is coming from where water dispenses into the machine to fill the drum.

Hi just read your posting. The fault with your machine is a faulty water valve.1st turn off the cold tap to the machine and leave for a couple of hrs.If the dripping stops you have a faulty cold valve. If the dripping does not stop then turn off the hot tap and that should stop the leak.Either way to fix this fault a water valve must be replaced.Or you can stop the drip by just turning the taps off after the washing has finished.Hope this helps and please reply for further help if needed.

Slow drip near back of lid

Hi there.this may be water dripping from the injector tube where the water actually enters the bowl.It is normal to drip for a short while after the machine has just been used but if it is a constant drip then you probably have a faulty inlet valve.Try this, turn off one of the taps & see if dripping stops.if not, turn off tha other tap & see if it stops.this will tell you which of the valves are leaking. You could just turn the taps off after use, that would save having to replace it.Hope that helped you.if not then give more detail if possible please.cheers!

I have a drip, drip, drip from my shower head on my triton t90x can you please advise. thank you

A shower head will drip for a period of time but I will assume that it is dripping continually. Servicing the Mixing Valve is what is needed to fix the continual drip. there are several 'O' rings washers that eventually wear down causing problems. These parts are serviceable and kits with instructions can be purchased at plumbing shops, DIY Stores, Hardware Stores. I hope this has helped thanks for using FIXYA. Good luck and have a great day. The metal ring (encasing the mixing unit housing) has popped off the unit. In an attempt to replace it, it will not stay in place. How can I make it so it stays in place?

Hi ILLOWA, Happy Newy Year! I believe the metal ring you are referring to is your mixer’s “Planetary Drip Ring”. The drip ring is a compression/friction fitted piece that should stay on during normal use. It should be on tightly enough that to remove it by gently tapping the edge of the ring with a straight screwdriver at several places around the ring.
If the drip ring is falling on its own, than you might try the reverse on trying to remove the ring and tap the bottom of the drip ring gently with a few taps of a soft faced mallet or hammer (use a piece of wood between the hammer face and the ring to protect the ring) around the ring to see it that seats it any better.
The ring may only fit tightly on the mixer in one orientation. Mark the outside of the ring with a small piece of tape so you can keep track of the orientations you have tried. As you attempt to seat the drip ring, if it will not stay on, then rotate the drip ring clockwise, just a bit, and repeat the process. Ideally you should find one position where the drip ring will fit securely and stay in place. Give the drip ring one final squeeze for good measure. Keep an eye on the drip ring the first few times you use the mixer to make sure it is not working loose again.
If it still comes off, then the ring opening has been expanded to the point that it won’t ‘grip’ the mixer head where it’s attached. You can either attempt to ‘crimp’ it with a pair of pliers at a few points around the ring so that it may grip better, or you may want to order a replacement drip ring for your mixer for which you’ll need the Parts List manual. If you're lacking one, you can download a PDF version from the KA website:
Click on Customer Care>Locate Manuals & Guides> Enter the 6 character model number, in your case use KSM90P, and select the file KSM90PSWH0.pdf (354.08 KB) listed under Parts List (16) (check to see that it matches your mixer model).
Turn to pages 4 & 5, titled “Case, Gearing and Planetary Unit”, which provides and exploded view for the disassembly and reassembly of your mixer, along with all the parts. Locate Illus. Nos. 26, Planetary Drip Ring, which is the part you want to order.
Here are five potential vendors in no particular order:;;;; and Prices can vary widely between vendors, so do your comparison shopping.
Also, while your mixer is apart it would be ideal to check for any other unseemly wear and tear on the gears, etc. It can be messy but quite gratifying to diagnose and repair your KA mixer yourself.
Here are some links to several excellent websites that detail the disassembling/reassembly of a KA Mixer.
Between these three websites and their excellent pictures and descriptions and your Parts List manual, you should now be able to completely disassemble, repair, and reassemble your mixer.
Good luck. I hope this helps. Howard, Burke, VA

Have a grohe euro plus, turn off shower and it it seals or pressure balancing cartridge?

if its a inwall mixer tap, you will have acartridge, ,depending on how old mixer is, I have found most of the time only the O-rings at the base cartridge wear out, by replacing these usally stops the drip. IF you cant find the right size o rings , you can purchase another replacement cartridge from most major plumbing stores

Took tank off and reinstalled 9 times - put new gaskets and rings in - but it leaks. Tank also wiggles a bit.

Go to the hardware store and get a tube of plumber's grease. Then grease up the gaskets and the rubber ring. Snug everything down and if it leaks snug it down a bit more
