Try changing the BOOT order in the BIOS (F2 or DELat startup) it is probably set to first boot from a USB device and then the hardrive- Have the hardrive first

My Inspiron 1545 turns off when I unplug it from adapter, and when plugged in, the power light on front flashes four times orange and one time white repeatedly.

Does the battery for dell inspiron 1545 plug in. It maybe because the battery pack is too hot ,you can turn off the laptop, let the pc notebook and the laptop battery both cooled down. Then try turn on it to see. If still happen to the matter,it must because the wrong turn off did harm to your Inspiron 1545 laptop adapter.

This could mean two things: a problem with the cmos battery or the motherboard itself. Try to remove the cmos battery first and install. If not, then replace the cmos battery.

I have a dell inspiron 1545 but it say plugged in but not charging.

There is a possibility that the battery is bad. You can try to remove the battery from the system and connect the adapter see if the comuter will turn on just with the ac adapter if it worked you might need to have battery replacement. If the issue still not resolved you might need to have motherboard replacement since it's the connection fo the adapter to the system.

Dell inspiron 1545 laptop not working

Sounds like the hard disk could have went bad. try running a diagnostic from your discs and if you receive an error, report it here or to Dell. If you did crash the hd, you will need a new one. I hope your machine is under warranty.
