Question about Tunturi Cycling

Open Question

Mid workout, my recumbent bike started squeaking. Then it made made a clunking noise and got harder to pedal. It is an old one (mod 504E) that does not have the option of variable-difficulty workouts! I loosened the tension and it got better temporarily, but after more squeaking and clunking it got harder again and I smelled a friction/burning smell. Now it will hardly pedal -- but when I took off the cover the friction belt and spring look fine. Help!

There are most likely some sort of bearings inside the wheel hub that are causing this.

SOURCE: My pedals are squeaking while pedaling on my

hi.

i cannot see any problems with wd40 on any bike and have used it myself for many years.
just wipe away any excess, and do not spray it on the pedal tops (where your shoes go) as they may get slippery.

light oil (3in1 or simillar) is also excellent on bikes instead of wd40. same advice as above.

i find wd40 works faster, especially on squeaks, but oil works for longer.
i usually use wd40 first to cure the imediate noise, and then use a few drops of the oil to keep it quiet for longer.

hope this helps

What are the benefits of recumbent exercise bike?

Recumbent exercise bikes offer a few benefits. First of all, they have lower back support, which is important for people with low back problems. Another benefit is that put less pressure on the knees compared to other exercise bikes. Moreover, if you have limited space available, these chairs are a great choice since they are very compact.

What are the different types of exercise bikes?

There are three types of exercise bikes: upright bikes, dual-action bikes, and recumbent bikes. Upright bikes are standard exercise bikes that allow you to only use your legs (regular bicycling movement). Dual-action bikes allow you to workout your upper body as well by providing moveable handlebars. Recumbent bikes feature a bucket seat and the ability to recline while pedaling.

If want my workout to concentrate on my abs, should I buy upright or recumbent exercise bikes?

Most defiantly recumbent bikes, the recumbent bikes concentrate the workout on the mid-section core muscles such as abs, Oblique and Core stabilizing muscles.

What is an upright exercise bike?

The upright is a traditional looking bike and gives you the option to stand up on the pedals and really crank up the intensity of your workout. These bikes also work on many muscle areas that are not active while riding recumbent bikes.

The bike goes to Pause mode frequently throughout the workout. I have tested all the exercise modes and made sure my RPMs stay the same but it just flips to pause and then starts working again...

Proform XP110 R recumbent bike makes clanking noise.

I have the same problem with my XP 110. After taking the ENTIRE thing apart and independently testing every single moving mechanism, I found out that it wasn't the motor, pedals, armbars, or any internal mechanism. Instead, it was the front stabilizer foot that made the annoying noise. There is a plastic mechanism around the front stabilizer legs that holds the front wheels in place (for moving the elliptical). Whenever a rotation forward occurs, the plastic squeaks and the noise resonates to make it sound like the pedals or motor is squeaking. I am still trying to find a solution to fixing the feet, but may end up ordering a new set from the manufacturer. Good luck with your elliptical!
