Different MP3 players use different media formats, sounds like you need to convert the music files you have into a different type of file.
Check your owners manual to see what type media file your player has to have.
If it is different from the one you have, convert the files to work for your player.

1. May be there is a particular music folder in which you have to copy the songs.
2. otherwise there is something wrong with the device and get it replaced.

CAN'T HEAR MUSIC, IT SAY FORMAT ERROR,WHAT DO I DO?

Your getting a format error because the format of the song, video, etc
you are trying to play is not the format needed by your MP3 player to
play the song,video,etc.
Always check in your owners manual to find out what format your player
requires.
Once you have determined what the format you have (MP3,MP4,ACC,WMA,etc.)
you will need to determine what format you need for your player to play
those songs,video,etc.
If the format that you have for your songs, videos, etc is different than
the format that you need for your player to play them, then you will
have to download a format converter and convert each song, video, etc to
the format that is usable in your MP3 player.

I got a alba mpk4065buk for my son for christmas and after christmas died down i tried to install music on it. when you plug it in to the computer it is seen and the lights on the front light up blue...

If it is brand new it will probably take a long time to charge up from the computer. It will need to be fully charged before the screen lights up.

Music stored on MP3 player won't play now for more than 10 seconds per song. This has only started happening today. What can I do to enable the song to be played? Is there a setting on the Mp3 Player. Alba...

Hello,

The setting for 10 seconds per song in the Alba MPK4065BUK is under the Repeat Mode, when Music is selected.
The 10 seconds mode is called Intro.
How to change / setup the repeat mode:

Song starts to play and then stops and says format error

Try reformatting the drive first. If this doesn't work then you will need to reset.

To Reset, put the slider into the locked position and then press a pin into the reset button on the back of the player.

If none of this works, return it to the store you bought it from.

Highschool mucial mp3 won't download music from my computer

The nameless mp3 player that you have is probably not capable of playing DRM-protected songs. Double-check the songs that you have downloaded from Limewire, and see if the 3 songs that you ARE able to play are in mp3 format. If so, only transfer songs in mp3 format to the player. DRM-encrypted WMA's and iTunes (AAC) songs will not work.

Sansa shaker not playing

Funny I found this forum because I've been having the same problem. My understanding is that subscription services (yahoo music, iTunes, etc.) don't come in an mp3 file format. You can, however, add songs from cd's you own.

Here's a link you might find helpful. It's from the Sansa Forums. One of the posters describes how you can convert files. I don't know how complicated it is. Good luck! :)

I understand your frustration! I've been having the same problem. I just wasted TWO HOURS trying to get music to download onto this Shaker. The extra $40 for a better device would have been worth it! I can't afford to buy all the cd's that I'd need to fill this player with the songs my son likes. I'm thinking of bringing it back!

Why do my songs show up on the SD card on my PC, but not on my MP3 player

I think that the problem is with the songs file formats. Try checking that they are all mp3. if they aren't then you have to convert them using an "MP3 Converter" software. there all plenty on the web. Goodluck
