Check it is not overheating, common issues with Advents are the death of the Graphics chip as this is cooled poorly by the fan. You can usually remove the large inspection hatch under the laptop and check that the fan is not clogged with debris and dust. Try cleaning it and see if that helps.
Also try to plug the laptop into an external monitor, if you get a picture on there, the graphics chip is working ok and the problem lies in the screen inverter or backlight. At this point, unless you are technically confident, it is best to take the laptop to a repair shop to have the screen and inverter tested

Insert ur vista cd in cd drive...and then boot the system from cd...then u can install or repair the previous one..
