Run about 3 half pots of vinger and water 50/50 through it. then 2 with clean water.
last thing if that don't work is run 25% simplegreen 75% water then 2 pots of fresh water.
after that call the coffee maker mfg.

If you have a steam jet with your coffee maker? Always wait until the steam is ready.... Never insert steam nozzel into cold milk until the steam is ready!

Otherwise it works in reverse and sucks milk up into the water deposit causing a foul tasting coffee thereafter!
You can flush with a mix of water and vinegar.

Alternatively if your pot is not sealed properly it could also be a problem. If you need (Aluminium espresso Moka or Bialetti coffee pot seals gaskets) - You can find them on Ebay. http://stores.ebay.com/Dr-EpSUN-Magic-Inkjet-Flush-Store/COFFEE-POTS-SEALS-FREE-SHIP-/_i.html?_fsub=2470068018&_sid=107516548&_trksid=p4634.c0.m322?refid=store

But here is a nifty little trick that works until they arrive. Go to your car accessory shop and ask for a tube of "Gasket Sealant." It works really well and seals in a jiffy, because it is designed to work with liquid and heat.
Good Luck.

How can I avoid bitter coffee?

If the water that comes into contact with the coffee grounds is too hot, you will extract bitter elements from the coffee. The water should not be boiling when poured on the coffee grounds. Coffee oils, fats and sediment are the natural parts of the coffee bean that causes bitterness by forming as the brew ages. The longer the coffee sits the stronger it tastes.

Bitter taste

You will likely find the bitterness is a function of your coffee bean choice or the 'roast' component of that coffee. Darker roasts tend to taste bitter.

Strong plastic smell and taste on a new Keurig Platnum coffee mak

I had the same problem and I discovered that after running 3 resevoirs full of water through the machine at 192 degrees , it got rid of the plastic smell. Set the cup size at the largest size mug and then just open the lid and close it , hit brew and let it fill the cup. Dump the water in the sink and repeat until you go through at least 3 resevoirs. The smell should be gone by then.

Coffee tastes like rubber / plastic - brand new Keurig Platinum - any suggestions?

After getting in touch with the Keurig folks - I tried their solution. And... it worked! The coffee this morning tastes wonderful! Here is what they said:

To get rid of the "new brewer taste", we recommend you flush three reservoirs of water through the system. Please add 2 tablespoons of white vinegar to the first reservoir of water. To do this, follow these simple steps:
~ Open and close the handle to simulate a brew cycle (without a K-Cup)
~ Press the largest cup size and brew a cup of water.
~ Repeat the process (opening and closing the lid, then brewing) until the reservoir is empty.
~ Flush two more reservoirs of water through the brewer in the same way.

This process will clear any lingering odors or flavors and allow you to enjoy an unadulterated cup of coffee.

My cuisenart 12 cup thermal coffee maker makes bad coffee. I can't return it as it was a fathers day gift. coffee always tastes bitter and burnt. at work we use the same coffee in a 20 dollar sunbeam...

The quality of the water is responsible for the flavor of the coffee. If you have had this coffee maker for a while it is probably coated with lime. Run a couple of cups of vinegar through it followed by a couple of pots of clear water. That will clean up your machine.

Once it is clean, try making a pot with bottled water, or water that you run through a water filtering pitcher.
You will be amazed at the differenct.
