How do i fix the brushbar on my vacuum cleaner there are three switches - power switch , brushbar switch ,and reset switch ,the latter does'nt seem to click ,should i replace this one

make sure you're getting power to the brush bar switch. If so there is a micro switch that activates the brush bar when you pull the handle back into the vacuuming position. Make sure that micro switch (in the ball assembly) is getting power from the brush bar switch.

Can anyone please help, my Miele vacuum cleaner will not switch on anymore.

Most likely problem one of the wires leading to the switch. Ohm them out with a OHM function of a multimeter, while unpluuged , of course. .

After I plugged in the unit, pressed the power button, unable to turn power on. The unit is pluged in, power is good at the outlet. Is there a procedure that will reset the power?

Dear sir's

Suggest that your switch on the appliance is burnt out? The switches are so poorly made as built in to fail, only bits of tin for contacts so they burn out on a large motor having an inductance over run on switch off. Strip down and replace the switch, note the genuine switch is very expensive in the order of £9 where an alternative modified switch may be in the order of £1:50. Hope this helps Kind regard Mike

Replaced Oreck power switch. 2 black leads and 1 white lead for switch. Posts marked 1, 2, and 3. 2 black wires to switch powers on. Connect white wire and breaker trips. Where does the white wire go?

Both black go to the switch. Power in - black to switch / white to white from motor.
From motor - black to switch / white to white from power cord
The black wire from the power hooks to the off end of the switch and the black wire from the motor hooks to the on end. Third post is not used. The two white wires are connected to each other with a small twist on wire nut.

I need a wiring diagram for a rainbow d4c

Are you talking about the power switch. The new power switches have 4 wires sautered to the power switch, where the old ones have 6 wires that slip in and lock into the power switch.

The blue ones are for your power cord, and the black ones are for your vacuum motor, and your power nozzle plug.

Secure one motor wire and one power nozzle plug wire to one of the black wires out of the new switch, and secure the other two, to the other black one from the power switch. It does not matter which ones that you match together. Secure one of each of the power cord to the two blue wires from the power switch. It does not matter which one of them goes to each wire neither. It is AC so power goes both ways.

Use twist on wire nuts to secure the wires to each other, and put some electrical tape around each of them, after you secure them securly with the wire nuts.

It is best to secure the cluster of wires to each other with a pull tie, after you are finished wiring everything.

If you have any more questions let me know. I am a Rainbow seller, and a Rainbow expert also.

Thank you,
Ralph

When I hit the power switch it turns on, but it will not stay on.

If this were mine I would take the old switch off and put a toggle switch from Home Depot in it. Make sure it's rated for 110 volts and the wattage of your machine or at least 100 watts. It should cost no more than 2-3 dinero or about 1/200th the cost of a new one.

Power switch will not work

Hoover U6437-900 U6439-900 Windtunnel Upright
seems there is a short in the power switch, is that possible, I have it disassembled and seems there is power going into the on/off button, but will only sporadically turn on

I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure.
This could be a defective switch or it could be a loose connection or wire – chances are that it is a defective switch and needs replacement – this could be a slider switch of which does wear out and that is why it will comes on sporadically – if there is a local vacuum cleaner shop in your area they can test the switch and possibly sell you a new one

Rainbow D4C power switch replacement

As far as I know, that switch with 6 terminals is still available. But if not, I would wire the 2 for the power head and the 2 motor wires together. Then you would have 4 leads to attach.
