Hp pavilion a1210n disk boot failure, insert system disk and press enter. how do you boot in save mode

Turn your computer off, turn it back on, as soon as you do that, start pressing F8 repeatedly until you get to a screen where you can access safe mode. If it's saying disk boot failure, you most likely have a dying/dead hard drive.

Hi. You need to clean the fan and heat sink. But for that you need to open the case of the computer. There is probably thick layer of dust and therefore is that fan turning at high speed just to try to cool the machine down. Check for warranty sticker or seal that can be broken if the machine is still under warranty.

Sounds like the hard drive went bad, hard drives will click away when the platters are touching each other.

Take the hard drive out and see if the clicking is still there, if it is the motherboard at that point cause the sound is built onto the motherboard.

If the clicks go away after taking out the hard drive then you know the hard drive is definitely bad.

When I turn my computer on, all I get is a high pitched noise from the computer. It is a Cmpaq Presario SR5450F

Hi,
If this is a desktop computer then chances are that one or more of the capacitors are failing. This will be high pitched sound that you can hear.

If this the case then you are looking at a new motherboard.

If you are talking about a laptop then please post back with more details.

Regards.

Its in your logic board controller issue, usually the problem is like that but to see what is the another problem of your External Drive is to make or use any diagnostic freeware program to identify the device where it really connected in your PC. I have also encountered like your problem but I send my External to Electronic Tech to check the power connection and controller connection going to PC. Because you said that the hard Drive is still have a normal sound then it is working then but cannot see in your Computer. Try to Diagnose first before you bring to a Technician. Good luck!

Will not connect to computer

If it's ticking, it's likely damaged. I know some hard drives have a high failure rate, and can die early.

High pitch noise on Notebook when Fan is on

the only two moving parts in a computer are the cooling fan and the hard drive.  Some fans have two speeds.

Sounds like a bad fan speed switch.

Hard drive or fan click?

Very unlikely that you are hearing any fan turn off and on since these are temperature controlled varable speed devices, not serviced by a relay that you can hear.
Some hard drives are audible even when working normally so that is not necessarily a sign of a dying drive.

Check your system settings to see if the drive is set to park and turn off too often.
I keep mine set at 30 minutes so it isn't cycling more than needed or running all the time.
