Hi
The motherboard has a sensor that will shut you down, (hopefully before any heat damage is done), should your system overheat. Normally when this starts to happen, it means either the fan has failed, or the dust screen where your notebook intakes fresh air is blocked. I'm not an expert with your model, but try to locate where the fan is on your model...alot of times you can hear when it starts up, and if you place you hand around the back or the sides you can feel the hot air blowing out. If so, then the fan is fine, so look for a screen where the fan draws air in, and use a vacuum and an old tooth brush to clear the screenif blocked with dust. Also, if your model draws air from the bottom, make sure you never use it on a bed, or anyplace where that intake can be blocked. Cooling pads are not expensive, and sit under the laptop with extra fans to provide additional cooling, and one of those may help prevent future problems, once this one is corrected.
In some cases, the laptop may need to be dismantled & the fan cleaned as well as the heat sync around the CPU if dust has clogged up the whole system. If you tackle that job yourself, it would be wise to find instructions on how to dismantle the notebook, as that can be difficult, I would recommend a repair shop take care of it in that case.
Hope this helps, good luck!
