It is about time to replace the consumable please replace pick roller in the paper feeder if the feeding capability is deteriorated then fujitsu scan ignore

SOURCE: Auto-Feeder Does not feed paper evenly

There must be a small jam in the feeder. You can try sliding a business card or heavier plastic card through the feeder all the way across. Chances are it will push whatever is stuck in there out.

SOURCE: Document feeder works for printing but not for scanning

Hi, When you had the doucment feed jam were you able to clean or remove any paper that might be blocking the paper to be scanned? It sounds like there is paper still in the document feeder , I would open the DF and check very closely to make sure no paper is in the way!Good Luck!

If those rollers are turning, and not feeding even after cleaning they simply need replaced. they can get so slick that no ammount of cleaning will help.
Thats what is sounds like.
Like trying to drive a car on ice. No traction.

<settings>

<scanner and cameras>
open <scanner and cameras>
inside you will find your fujitsu scanner fi-5120C
now call <attributes>
-- in WIN2000 there is a button, in XP use the right mouse button--
in <device settings> you see the ADF counter, an the consumable counters for pad and pick roller.
Reset the changed parts, confirm the EEPROM writing
and the message will be cleared.

Okay.. 1st off I'm probably going to the jumped on for this... But.. I fix and/or make them work printers, computers and all sorts of electronic gear. For a living... Yes .. the manufacturer will tell you not to use alcohol to clean the rollers. but it does work. Windex (ammonia) will clean the heads at times. I also use Scotch brite pads to clean the pickup rollers. We get them in about 8x10 inch pads.
I will spay some alcohol on the end where the pick up roller is. Place the pad in normal paper tray. Most printers have a cam shaped one on the right, left or in the middle. That gets the paper moving. The pad is way to thick to actually move and will cause a jam indication on the printer. But what happens is the roller will slip on the pad and clean itself. Pretend you cleared the jam a couple of times and the printer will try to pick up the 'paper' and jam again. A couple of these and the pick up roller (cam shaped) will usually be good to go. The other option (the best) is to buy a new pickup roller for the printer. But cleaning will work for the short term. What happens on most printers is the roller gets very smooth from normal use and then won't pick up the paper for the rest of the trip through the printer. I have used a piece of fine grade sand paper, but you have to hold it so it won't go through the printer and it makes a gritty mess... Once I orderd a 'printer cleaner' from HP and all it was, was a couple of pieces of scotch brite glued to a fancy holder to match the spacing of the rollers. That's when I started using sheets of the stuff. Just pretend they are a piece of printer paper. In the worst case I have used belt dressing and then alcohol to clean most of it off. Alcohol has a tendency to soften the rubber on the pickup roller. That's why the company says don't use it. But you can by rubber rejuvenator that is mainly alcohol.. Go figure.........

Hello Ismail,

Error U1 referes to Frequent paper jam in Fujitsu fi-5650c scanner. In order to troubleshoot your scanner issue, you are advised to follow the steps provided below:

1. Do the documents satisfy the paper specification?
2. Have the documents been prepared properly?
- Align the edge of documents for stable paper feeding.
- Remove documents with creases or dog-ear corners.
- Scanning different widths documents may cause skew and result in paper jam.
3. Is the imprinter EXT cable connected to the scanner properly? (only when the imprinter is installed)
4. Clean the Pick roller, the Separation roller, the Brake roller and the Chute roller and see if the error is resolved.
5. Clean the Feed rollers and the Plastic rollers and see if the error is resolved.
6. Replace the Pick roller, the Brake roller and the Chute roller, and see if the error is resolved.
- Check the consumable counter in the software operation panel. When the counter exceeds the values, replace the Pick roller or the Brake roller.

If the above steps do not help, then yuo are recommended to contact the nearest Fujitsu service center for assistance.

Fi-6130z fujitsu scanner jamming repeatedly


Hello Meg,
To troubleshoot your scanner issue, yuo are advised to perform the steps provided below:
1.Remove all documents from the ADF paper chute.
2.Open the ADF while pressing down the ADF open lever. If your has the imprinter option attached, please open the imprinter and then open the ADF.
3.Remove the jammed papers from the ADF.
4.Close the ADF pushing the center part of the ADF carefully.
If document jams occur frequently, then please check the followings:
1. Do the documents satisfy paper specification?
2. Have the documents been jogged?
• Align the edge of documents for stable paper feeding.
• Remove documents with crease or dog-ear.
• Scanning different width of documents may cause skew and result in paper jam.
3. Are Chuter Unit (ADF paper chute),Guide P ASSY (Sheet guide), Feed roller cover (plate guide) and Brake roller cover installed correctly?
4. Clean the Feed rollers, Eject rollers,Plastic rollers, glass surface and paper feeding surface, and see if the error is resolved.
5. Check the consumable counter from the TWAIN driver screen. When the counter exceeds the values, replace Pick roller or Brake roller see if the error is resolved.
6. If the issue still persists, then you are recommended to contact the nearest Fujitsu service center for further assistance.

Please clean the followings using a cloth/ cleaning paper moistened with iso-propyl alcohol:(Pls refer to page-95 of your scanner getting started guide)
1.Pad Assy 2. Ultrasonic sensor 3. Idler roller 4. Pick roller 5. feed roller 6. Eject roller and 7. Glass surface

If the above doesn't help, then check the Pad Assy & Pick Roller count. If the counts exceeds the suggested replacement cycles, then you you may have to replace the same. Pls refer to page-99 of the getting started guide supplied with your scanner.

Error J1


Hello Sharon,

When a document jam occurs, "J" and "1" will display alternately on the function number display panel of the scanner.Please perform the following:
  1. Remove all documents from the ADF paper chute.

  3. Remove the jammed papers from the ADF.
  4. Close the ADF pushing the center part of the ADF carefully.

Code DS42003 PAD ASY IN PAPER FEEDER


After you've been scanning for a while with your Fujitsu 6110 or 6130 scanner, you will get a message from the scanner recommending that you replace some of the scanner's consumable parts, such as the pick roller and pad assembly. Although you can ignore these messages, they will keep showing up, even after you have replaced the parts, until you also clear the scanner's page counters in the Software Operation Panel.

Fi-6140-Rollers keeps moving even when doc feeder is empty.


There may be a piece of paper stuck in the sensor area, the scanner assumes there is paper and it keeps working. Blow gently and remove all shreds of paper.

When ever you face such type of issue, the Scanner will display U-2 error with the Red led blinking and the TWAIN display will be "The multi feed is detected.(Code DS32006)".

To resolve the issue, please follow the steps provided below:

#Check if the documents satisfy paper specification? Please refer to the Operator’s Guide for paper specification, paying
attention to the following points:

• Is there any print within 10mm x 10 mm square in the center of documents on the top?
• Is multi feed error detected by paper length when scanning documents with different length?
• Is there perforation in the center of documents?

#Check ADF and clean pick roller, Pad ASY and around DF sensor with care.

#Replace Pick roller and Pad ASY and see if the error is removed. Check the consumable counter from the TWAIN driver screen. When the counter exceeds the permitted values, replace Pick roller or Pad ASY. If the error still occurs, confirm that the cable is correctly connected then replace the sensor.

Feeding paper for scanning/faxing - e-studio350


If u put stack of papers on the feeder, but it didnt pick well or paper jam occur, u need to check the feeder unit. Normally roller is wear and tear, foreign materials inside the feeder and etc will cause paper jam on feeder.
