I would say that a fair price to pay for the repair should be about 1/3 of the price of the TV.

Have a plasma samsung hpt5054 i have sound no picture is it worth fixing thanks

On a plasma that usually means a problem in the power sections. You should be able to get an estimate from a repair shop or Samsung repair depot. On that size of tv it should be cheaper to repair than replace unless it is several years old. Usually on a smaller tv just out of warrenty the cost to repair is worth more than just going out and buying a new tv.

As long as you know your replacement cost and get an estimate you will come out on top.

RCA 27 in has white horizontal line going through the middle

this symptons is caused by a breakdown in the vertical deflection circuit. hence, the trouble may be in the vertical oscillator, amplifier or output circuit. in most modern tv the vertical ic is usually composed of these said circuit inside. the ic have many pins, standing on a heat sink and smaller in size. try to check also the capacitors surrounding it. sometimes leaky capacitor may cause this problem. good luck!

Not repond The remote control

Hi, Unfortunatly, Philips had a design flaw from the manufacturer. You will need to have it serviced by a technician, but the replacement part is called an I.R. Board. It should only cost about 2 or 3 dollars, but the labor is the main cost of the repair, which you have a warranty for.

RE: Akai LCT2715

You would have to remove the Power supply if you feel comfortable doing so or you could send the whole TV but that could cost a bit....

Ilo 27 inch lcd tv it gets power but will not turn on

had same problem take the back off and remove the power supply board. the capaictors on the board are going to be bulged. there is one who will fix it for 89.00 EMAIL IS jah2mil@hotmail.com. heres a copy of what he sent me. i have a friend who is an electrician and hes going do replace them for me for cost of the parts.
The cost for the power supply repair is $89.00 USD that includes parts, labour and shipping it back to you via Canada post. It should take 3 to 4 weeks to get it back from the time you send it in for service.

The payment can be pay pal to this same email when the board is ready to be shipped or international money order payable to Jaime Hernandez enclose with the power supply package.

Please send the package via postal service not UPS, DHL or Fedex because they will charge brokerage fees when the power supply comes to Canada.

If you decide to send the power supply, send it to:

Jaime Hernandez
152 Major William Sharpe Dr.
Brampton, Ontario
Canada
L6X 4C3

When you send the power supply assembly, the declare value for customs should only be around $20.00 because the assembly will be coming into Canada for servicing only and once is repair it will be send back to you.

Regards,

Jaime.

Sounds like you have a short in your set. Probably a shorted horizontal output transistor. You need to have a tech check it out and give you an estimate for repairs. Stargazer

TV does not turn on

You have a short in your unit somewhere or a high voltage problem. The most common problem would be a high voltage failure. If you are not familiar with televisions and their safety this is best left to a repair shop. There is not much in a TV that consumers, unfamiliar with the system, can check. The problem should not cost too much to fix. Check for a shop which has a free estimate or low estimate which will be subtracted from the cost of the repair if you choose to have the unit repaired there. Good luck.
