Before going too deep into repairs, check to see if the Lamp is bad. If it is, the part # is UX21511.
I would estimate the cost of the lamp to be about 200.00 but the price could vary. Hitachi's Customer Service phone number is 1800-HITACHI.
I hope this helps,
yes this can be repaired !
the cost of these type of repairs run around $300
i would say its worh it when it will last a long time after the repair!
check around to see who might have the better deal in repairing this tv
most of the time they will tell you that it needs to be tested to determine the cost but if they have done it enough then they should be able to give you an approximate estimate
had same problem take the back off and remove the power supply board. the capaictors on the board are going to be bulged. there is one who will fix it for 89.00 EMAIL IS email@example.com. heres a copy of what he sent me. i have a friend who is an electrician and hes going do replace them for me for cost of the parts. The cost for the power supply repair is $89.00 USD that includes parts, labour and shipping it back to you via Canada post. It should take 3 to 4 weeks to get it back from the time you send it in for service.
The payment can be pay pal to this same email when the board is ready to be shipped or international money order payable to Jaime Hernandez enclose with the power supply package.
send the package via postal service not UPS, DHL or Fedex because they
will charge brokerage fees when the power supply comes to Canada.
If you decide to send the power supply, send it to:
Jaime Hernandez 152 Major William Sharpe Dr. Brampton, Ontario Canada L6X 4C3
When you send the power supply assembly, the declare value for customs should only be around $20.00 because the assembly will be coming into Canada for servicing only and once is repair it will be send back to you.
Sounds like the TV's convergence circuit has failed: *Call an Authorized Service Center and them give you an estimate cost of the repair, or *Repair it your self; get KIT 10 locally or B&D Enterprises 1-800-458-6053; www.bdent.com. Good luck, big IRISH.
I think that the unit is going into protective shutdown because it has detected an
internal problem. I would suggest that you invest in a detailed repair
estimate that will cost about $100-$150 depending upon your location.
It might cost even less, especially if you take it in. You could also contact Zenith and see what they might say about this problem first before taking it in.
