I would download the latest antivirus programme first thing after having fixed any mechanical problems then download the latest drivers from Toshiba and BIOS update.
When all is installed download the latest updates from Windows and that should be that.
Blue Screen problems can be caused by defective RAM. Press F5 at boot up and run the utility.
